the WAY OVER RATED for $30,000. I mean dont get me wrong i love my 08 GG SI but, you could get a lot better preforming car for the much $!

oh kevin, I knew u'd be like that, but the sad thing is, the fact that I payed like 2-3k more for the Mugen Si than the price for a regular Si. And it's One of one thousand. So i'm sure it'll hold that value a little more. But I didnt buy this car to "perform" in it. The wife simply liked it, and so did I. Also I'm looking at this as an investment.96civic cr-v;157422 wrote:the WAY OVER RATED for $30,000. however, it wouldn't have factory warrantied parts....or a lease option!
we had this discussion many times, a good part of the purchase premium is due to the exclusivity of being a 'Mugen'. Plus, they got a SMOKIN' deal on the car! But, just for argument's sake, let's add up what it would take to make a comparable car out of a 'regular' Si sedan.
Mugen GP's- Retail is crazy, but I've seen them for @$1800 on Ebay
BFG KDW tires- 154 each plus shipping from tirerack (so call it $650)
Nice quality Catback- $650
Suspension with sport valved dampers- $750
Aero package with OEM fit/finish- $1300 (may not have the rear diffuser integrated tho)
High Dolla shift knob- $150
Mugen Grille- $200 ?
Big ASS spoiler of comparable quality- $700 (don't know who makes one, so a guess)
$6200 in parts, not installed (roughly). MSRP on the car is just shy of 22k (2008 models). so for total retail of @ 28200 you could have a 2008 Si setup similar to a Mugen and still have your residual values based on it being a 'normal' Si. So, to me it's not really that bad of a price since the only made 1000 of em. And, it's all factory warrantied and installed.
we need to get all the Si's together and get VE to take some pics....maybe when the weather breaks.
