+1. Save for Comptech Supercharger for 3600 bucks.Nerrej;154973 wrote:WTF? Yes I have an idea, take that 1700 and dump it all on go fast stuff for the car. not silly things like tatting up you engine compartment. But then again, to each his own.
Read my post on 8thcivic. You're basically wasting your money, if you're trying to add NA power with anything but an Intake and a header. Take my advice... if you buy all of that other 1-2 whp gain shit, you're going to be broke and disappointed with the results. You also don't need an after market clutch. The stock clutch is more than enough, for the power you are putting out. People who supercharge and turbocharge their cars are even fine with the stock clutches, for a while. All you will be doing is sacrificing daily driveability. By adding the flywheel, you MAY see 3-4 whp, IF you're lucky. That's after the 300-400 dollar flywheel, and the 500 bucks for someone to put it in, if you're not doing it yourself. Remember that the more little petty bolt on's you do, the more you ruin driveability, reliability, and the more little problems you will encounter with cheap/non OE parts. Stick to the basics - I/H/E. Just remember that exhaust is a minimal gain, for the 8thgen civics. 3-4 whp, at the VERY best. Our stock exhaust system is more than sufficiently tuned.
My advice to you -
Option 1-save your money on all of the spacers, pullies, and other BS mods that won't get you feeling any difference. Buy an Injen or AEM cold air intake, and buy a good header like buddy club, or hytec. IIIIIIF driven perfectly, people have broken into the HIGH 13's, with just an intake and header, on street tires. Practice makes perfect. Then, since you are into cosmetics - buy yourself some good coilovers. Not only will they improve your handling, but they will drop your ride height and get rid of wheel gap, to make the car look really sharp. I have heard good things about buddy club coilovers. They have good ride quality, and minimal noise.
If you're looking for great straight line performance, you got the wrong car. Comptech or Jackson Racing supercharger, or the greddy turbocharger is your only hope. Even then, you will be a long way off from even breaking a 12 second 1/4 mile pass.
Just my .02. Happy modding.

Yea i have been looking at the supercharger for a while, but me and most importantly the WIFE thinks i should hold off for later on down the road. I am getting parts for the car now that are most compatable with the SC so i dont have to replace a bunch of parts in the future. I bought the car knowing that it is not that fast and i am truely not looking for it to be a race car. I like zipping around on the road but not to the extent of getting arrested and never being able to drive again. thanks for the suggestions.

Yea I have been off this site for a while... i will post some new pictures when i get this thing completed finally... wife is going nuts though cuz i have already spent over $9,500 on various parts for it and i still have yet to buy the CF Hood, Camber kit and Foggies... which makes it over 10k.. but i mean screw it. I love my car! i revised my list.. put a whole bunch more on the car that i didnt have on it before, and bought a whole bunch too...
