My re-build thread: 96 hatch

Post by ATL »

Hey guys I figured I would share my project with you all. I bought this car from a buddy of mine to finish it. It was flat black when I bought it, now its silver. Come to find out the block is warped.... SOOOOO I am redoing everything now!

My goal: To build a fun and fast honda that can go from a dig. I would like to make around 440whp on pump gas and as close to 600whp as possible with meth injection. I want to trap over 130 on pump and over 140 with meth. : ) Basically, I'd like to hurt some feelings on the highway

Motor: The motor us a golden eagle HD sleeved b16 with an 83mm bore. Eagle H beams, cp pistons. The bottom end is getting ACL race main/rod bearings. The head is fully ported and polished B16. I have supertech valvetrain. JG Intake manifold and small 65mm throttle body. Its getting skunk2 pro1 cams and the head will be complete. I am also painting my engine bay. N2HIFI is going to do a wire tuck on the car for me. I am getting everything power coated and heat wrapping the hot stuff. Im running a peakboost turbo kit with a Tial wastegate and BOV.

Interior: The inside is getting the seat pictured below. I just put in my SI gauge cluster with a new gauge pod. It will get a roll cage eventually. Im gonna throw on some light window tint and everything else will remain stockish for now.

Exterior: Brand new paint. New bumper to be ordered shortly. Rear type R lip. I should be getting some new goodies tomorrow or wednesday(will post pics). Wheels are to be decided.

Here are a couple of new parts new things Ive done so far. I will update as I go along!

I am running a quafe LSD so it really doesnt torque steer. My B20/vtec hatch did tho!

It was painted by Rich at Midwest Customs in Belleville, IL. I was actually ripped off by Rich. He didnt wet sand or buff, etc... I have since done some of that and it looks great. I only paid about 2500 tho. I would highly suggest going there now. The guy that paints for them now is awesome.

JVolsch looks very nice. is this yellowdart's old car?

haha yea it is. I was trying to get away from that question. Thats another reason I am redoing EVERYTHING. I am making it my own now. I am changing most everything inside and out.
