Car: 1997 CPG EX 5-speed
Objective: My main goal for the car is to build a really nice DD that run's mid 14's rocks baller parts all while retaining all the OEM accessories like a/c, power steering and having a kick ass full custom stereo.
Motor: to start i am keeping the d16 for a while till i get my new motor built for it, but the end goal is a 12:1 180+hp b16 (i have pct pistons and a fully built head and a full b16 swap already)
Suspension: I had plans of buying D2 coilovers but after looking at the spring rates they wont work for what i want , i am going with what i know works for my needs AGX's and GC coilovers (i already have this set up on my EG and i love the ride). Going to be running Function7 LCA's, Bennen strut and tie bars, ASR rear brace, ITR sway bars and ES bushings.
Interior: Going to replace a few parts that are in poor shape due to the previous owner, and then upgrading some parts. Ordered a personal grinta 330m wheel with yellow stiching, NRG slim hub and quick release along with itr yellow stick shift boot already, i have my gray recaros from my EF hatch i will be putting in but for now i have crx Si seats. I will be redoing the cloth inserts on the doors in black suede and yellow stitching. Eventually i will be ordering Memory Fab S68 carbon kevlar seats to replace the recaros. I also already have a Mugen shift knob and B&M dual bend shifter for the car
Exterior: This is where i am at a toss up on which direction i want to go but for now i Ordered the H.O.P. ek4 sir lip from jdmland and am waiting on that to come in as well as my type R grill , debating on headlights and mirrors right now. I am planning on ordering CF hood and trunks, The car is getting new tint all the way around and i am removing the EX spoiler ASAP. I already replaced the red and amber tails with 00 civic SI tails which look so much better. I think eventually i will be getting a BYS bumper if i can find one new and the ordering a rear lip but we will see how the car looks after it's lowered and the lip is on. I also ordered the square amber style fogs .. ordered depo's .. eh who cares they are a disposable item so why waste ALOT of cash there when i need new headlights instead.

and how it sits today after i swapped fenders, wheels, tails and seats plus cleaned it up a little bit. (and these pictures are at my place since the car was at a friends house till i sold my red hatch)
well she' needs alot of love still , like i need to find a replacement door or have that one fixed and some paint work done, but considering i have only done very minor things like swapping the fenders and misc BS it has already came pretty far. Once the parts start getting here next week i will get the suspension and exhaust done, swap the bottom end on the motor because this one has a rod knock and then i can start driving it everyday ... the whole reason i bought it

It is a rear roof spoiler for the upper part of the rear window .. it looks like this when its on and painted
I also have a perfect set of headlights, and N1 exhaust and AGX shocks i have to take pictures of still also
8/18 ... THE BUILD STARTS
car is in the garage , pulled the hood off and started undoing things and draining fluids, decided to go ahead and deleat the cruise control , some brackets and start relocating things, but basically getting the motor to be pulled so i can swap bottom ends and get it back to running condition for the next MM

Ok get that stock bad y8 out so i can swap in a new bottom end
and while we are at it pull the bumper,fenders, headlights and fender linners
that is were i stopped friday night , today = major power washing and engine rebuilding, some wire tuck and then putting humpty dumpty back together
ok spent about 3 hours today with degreaser, simple green and a power sprayer and this is what we ended up with
1 million times better
then did a ton of work with the motor, pulled the tranny,clutch flywheel ,head and sensors from the y8 and swapped it all over to the y5 block and reassembled it and got it ready for reinstall tommorrow when i get home from work.
* the valve cover is temp. i am going to take the one from the car and paint it and get it ready tommorrow at work so i put on a spare for now *
