Well, I have an update... 99BlackHatch is coming back.
Updates as of today...
White car got new motor mounts since the driver's side mount decided to obliterate itself into submission. It also got a new short throw shifter and Skunk 2 knob to go with it since the previous owner decided that a short throw shifter was when you take a hack saw and cut the shifter down 2 inches.
The motor for the black hatch got the tranny installed and a lot of the little things bolted onto the new motor today as well. More work will continue tomorrow on the B18C5 motor.

Well, I have an update... 99BlackHatch is coming back.
Well today I was sick as fuck and I took today off for a vacation day... I didn't want to waste it, so I got to work on both hatches again for fun.
Well I got majority of the parts for the intake manifold to be installed, so I did... I just need the injectors and the IACV and it's good to go.

The HUGE hold up lately was the motor mount. The mount I have is a solid mount for an EK, and with the Type R motor, it had a different mount. It's all good, take it off and swap them... Not that easy.
The other mount had been modded heavily. Somewhere along the line, this motor had the driver's side motor mount pulled out and threads stripped, so in order to fix it, that owner drilled into the block a larger diameter hole and tapped it for a larger bolt. He also enlarged the holes in that original motor mount.
Well I needed to do the same thing... I needed to enlarge the diameter of the holes on the mount from 1/4" to 1/2" diameter in order to get the correct size bolts to screw into the block. There were other things I could have done, but I went this route... So i go upstairs with Paul / SweetEBPSI and my dad. He works at Boeing and has a set of HIGH quality drill bits and a drill press, so we begin to drill...
3 hours later we end up getting 1/8" into the mount. Why do you ask? Well this is NOT cast iron, or hardened steel... I currently can not recall what it is exactly, but I had to go to my old job and have them take it and mill it out. After 45 mins of milling with a CARBIDE end mill, we got the 3 holes drilled out and I took it home and threw it on.
Also take note of the Skunk 2 cam gears...

Finally I got bored and decided on how much I FUCKING hate the side skirts on the white hatch... So I ripped them off as well. and I took the side skirts off the black hatch currently, and put them on the white hatch...

Next week, there should be a set of wheels here as well, and maybe some paint on the white hatch and a running black hatch. Time will tell.
