new life for the hatch...again
ahhh...frustrating update...so the other day i noticed my d/s floor board carpet was soaked. wtf? i must have spilled something on it like an idiot. first thought was i spilled the windshield washer fluid on it when i pulled out my fluid line for the rear window. so i did the old touch and smell test. smelled kind of like dirt really, so that didn't help all that much. it defintily had some stickyness to it though, so i thought, hmm, i did get pretty excited when the engine fired up...but nah, it can't be that. decided to pull the capet and saw a nice little green puddle. awsome, right after i got the dash and everything all back together, my heater core decided it wants to leak. i was hoping it was just the hoses going to it in the bay, but i replaced those tonight and still leaking like crazy. sucks balls. so, if anybody has a heater core laying around they want to sell, please let me know. otherwise, i might be pulling it out and looping the lines for now until i can get another core. so not only did i ruin my carpet (which wasn't in the best shape anyways) but i also may be losing my heat now. good times... best part about it is, i am supposed to drop the car off at Lowes on monday to get it tuned, so it should be a fun weekend :/

i figured i'd post up a couple more pics of where i am now to keep this build thread alive. nothing real exciting. i picked up a heater core from eh2_erik, ripped my dash apart and decided i might as well get a new one after all this work, cause i sure as hell didn't want to have to do that again. so, eric, i have your old one laying around if you want it back (and after my fiasco trying to find you that night i went out and got a garmin nuvi then next day...lol). got the heater core in, which fixed the leak, but i had to pull my capet because its ruined, so that will have to be replaced later. other than that, no leaks now. i had a crazy horn issue i had to work out, i didn't realize the horn wiring was part of the srs system, so after i got that wired back up right, everything on the car seems to be working correctly. plan is to have it inspected tomorrow, get an alignment and plates and drive it out to lowe next week for a tune. i know this has been a rediculously slow build up, but bare with me. between work, house projects (and cardinals games :wink2:) i've had a tough time finding time for this car. but, hopefully next week some time it will be back on the road. heres a few pics i snapped earlier with the car ready for inspection.
front end back together w/ oem lip installed:

bay cleaned up and ready to roll

side shot w/ 1+ year of dirt/grass collected on the car

crappy shot of the new lug nuts on my dirty rims

function 7 lca w/ the illuminas

i still need to get my gsr rear sway bar on there and throw my corbeau seat back in. other than a few minor things, this is pretty much how i plan for the car to sit for the next year or so. i may try to get some more upgrades before IA next year (for some reason i use that as my deadline for crap every year...) but we'll see. for now, on to the house projects!
wish me luck on my inspection tomorrow! :nervous:
