for sure, for the cash you will spend on a c5, you could have a nice k in there, plus, as ive learned, k builds dollar for dollar yield more hp, AND TORQUE!!!!!!!!!!! i got tired of driving around my 2 stroke integra.

indeed :)...but it still is a lot more pricey+++the c5 on an extreemely light weight car will do fine for me...also if u check out honda tech, there is a thread where they talk on honda swaps and for my car it even says the c5 is the best way to go...considering price, decent power/tourqe, and an important point for me is how many c5 swaps do u see...compared to others? a little extra power for alot more money dosent look so good for my budget at the moment :) will see how it works out....and yes about the red car...they look amazing and ride quite nicely...but they are very slow...so it will be my pretty daily driver :) not much u can do to them...they are not very tuner friendly...but maybe a swap down the road...

umm lets see , a properly swapped k with k-pro = about 8-10k, or a C5 swap with every bolt on, head work and cams = about 7k with money left over. Sorry as much as i like the k swap a b swap is still cheaper and faster.

-C5 swap with every bolt on, head work and cams = about 7k
-Y8 swap with head work, a cam, and internals = about 4-5k with money left over for boost
-Owning DOHC's = Priceless :w00t:

So my question is, why dont people use h22's? From cruising hmotors, it says that the h22 makes more tq than the k20. After i googled it, I got the same results. And its cheaper. Why dont ppl use it?

the weight mainly, plus the h-series tranny uses cable shift linkages, so just like the K you have to buy all the parts needed to swap a linkage style car over to the cable style linkage and these parts add up which start making the cost of a h swap alot closer to a k-swap. Or you can do a h2b swap which is using a b series tranny on a h series motor which eliminates the need to swap over to cable linkage BUT these adapters and plates are close to a 1000.00 which still makes the coast of the swap expensive.

also most people are not really just swapping in the k20 from the EP3 civic si they are really swapping in either a jdm civic type r motor or a rsx type s motor, the EP3 motor has the least potential out of all the k motors unless you do a head swap.

directly from hmotorsonline.com

30011 - B18C 96-00 (TypeR) Complete Change Over
200Hp 134Trq 11.1 Compression(JDM)
$ 4400.00 Plus shipping and handling 96-97 Spec

30014 - K20A (RSX Type R) Motor, Tranny, ECU
220 Hp 158Trq 11.5 Compression (JDM)
$ 5600.00 Plus shipping and handling.

30018 - H22A Type S 97-98 Complete Motor,Trans,Ecu
220Hp 163Trq 11.0 Compression (JDM)
$ 3650.00 Plus shipping and handling.

these are just motor and tranny prices not including mounts and whatever adapters needed to use the ecu's or shifter linkages etc. But seeing as how the b18 will bolt right into a EG chassis with NO modifications even though it cost a little more up front its the better choice of motors, less weight more power and less modifications needs to be done to make the motor fit and run.
