My Crx

Post by rickles8099 »

Since there is a section here for this, and i havent done one yet, heres some pics and some info/history on my car.

This is my car. I bought it November 9, 2004. When I bought it, it looked horrible. I didn't care because I wanted to build a sleeper. Below are pictures on how it looked when I got it:

First things I did to it was take the engine and transmission (d16y8 with a zc/si hybrid tranny) out of my hatch and put it into the crx, switch the crx from dpfi to mpfi, switch out the ugly door panels with a set I had laying around, and take out the awful seats and seat covers and put in a set of si seats. Install short throw shifter, put in a new clutch and flywheel, and switch the fuel pump from the hatch to the crx.

After a couple of months I decided that it was time to go turbo. The turbo I installed was a rhb5 turbo off of a first generation ford probe

After a couple of months with the rhb5 turbo, I started to get tired of the small turbo and decided it was a time for an upgrade. So... after a little research and asking around, I got a good deal on a garrett turbo with external tial wastegate.

A truck hit me and sent my car into the median on the highway back on October 1st, 2005. After searching around and not finding a shell for cheap and someone telling me that this car will never run again, i decided that it was time to start to fix her. Heres some pics of the damage, and i took some pics of the progress on putting it back together.

And here are some final pictures on how the car looked as of January 11, 2006.

Once i get a chance, ill take some new pictures and post them. There has been some changes on how she looks, but not much. Let me know what you think. And i want to take this time to thank stolle, boner, and ginoracer3 for helping me out and giving me the proper words of motivation. she wouldnt be here if it wasnt for you guys.

04/07/08 Update:
heres some newer pictures of the car:

just think if you wouldnt have said that the car was done for, i might not have a honda at all and this site most likely wouldnt be here.

and as for everyone else, thanks for the replies. if i can get some work done on it, im sure everyone will like the outcome.

Looks good, and I remember at sonic you telling me and showing me the work you did to it in the photo book and I remember thinking that car was fucked when it got hit and then thinking when I looked down at it that it honestly couldn't be the same car and you pointed out some weld spots to prove it to me. Good thread can't wait to see more on it.
