cool man, i was hoping you guys didn't rush through it. the thing i was telling you about was the rod bolts. apparently the ls rod bolts are really weak, and become the weakest link of an lsvtec during higher revs. all the research i did when i was building mine, said that upgrading rod bolts are a must when building an lsvtec. if you're already done with everything, keeping around the stock ls redline is probably a good idea. if you want to stretch it to take advantage of that vtec in the future, definitly do some beefier rod bolts.

good stuff. but staying around 7-7500 isnt really worth it for all the work youre puting in to it. i love taking my gsr up to 8. thats a badass "jdm" valve cover, was that extra??

Not once did i say i was going to STAY around 7-7500. I just said that my redline jumped from 7k to 7500 from the virgin p28 ecu. Until i get gs-r, Si, or ITR pistons and crank, chip my ecu, and get a nice tune, then yes my redline will be raised to 8k+.

"all the work you're putting into it" ???? i haven't even started to build this thing yet. all i did was put a stock gs-r head on a stock ls block. nothing more, nothing less. i still have a couple of things to fix first before i start building.

i just got done doing the swap, give me time to build it and you will see great results.

My valve cover was not extra. it actually came with the head. :ninja:
