That and I don't think I would want to dive a lowered car with a freshly painted front end though a St. Louis winter.
I totaly agree with Kage on this one! Except one thing, you don't want to drive around with primer too long because primer is not a sealant, it will soak up moisture, and when you paint it the moisture will come out through the paint in form of cracks and peels. I'd say after you primer the car, just spray a thin layer of clear coat or something over that to seal it up. Then when you're ready for paint you just sand the clearcoat away...

Well the car is almost complete.

Tranny was rebuilt tonight with the Honda LSD from the GSR tranny I bought and the B16 gears with the GearSpeed carbon coated synchros.

The motor is done being rebuilt by Dale / Gunmetal Si. New hone, piston rings, bearings, all new gaskets, and hoses. Full wire tuck, relocated the battery to the rear hatch, and he helped realign the front end.

Once the car is back together and running, it will be towed to Lowe once more for the final tune for the time being.

Before VTEC engagement, the car was making 257whp and 215 ft/lbs on 9 psi @ 5,500 rpms, with oil burning, which was lowering the octane rating in the car.

Lower octane = less power of course and also it means more likely to have detonation.

Not sure where the car will end up at power wise on 14 psi, a full tune and also another 3,000 rpms to go.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!

I owe everyone a huge thanks for all the help and info and input put into this project.

Rick did another awesome job rebuilding the tranny tonight too... we got both tranny's torn apart and rebuilt in about an hour and a half! I think he has an idea about working on "B" tranny's now too. lol

You would have to be near 6300rpm to get that whp (if torque stayed the same).

good power either way.
