89 CRX Si Project...

Post by 90CivicEx »

Ok so I bought this car not really planning to do much to it and just Daily Drive it, but plans have changed "Like they always do" and I decided I'm going to buy another block and LS/Vtec it...But thats like 3 months away before I start doing that anyways onto the pics and whatnot of before and after and what all changed have been made...I hope to have the car sanded down and In a few coats of flat black primer but this will involve pulling the motor so I can coat the engine bay and do somewhat of a small wire tuck.

I can far from say I really did everything alone on this car, Stolle put the motor and tranny in and Cale and I have redone every things else from there. The wireing unhooked the day after I bought it so it ran with no vtec for roughly 2 weeks then I got in and rewired it and it pulls alot harder. I honestly haven't a clue where to go with it just yet cause theres so many different ways to build a B-series and so many other options to swap to but I just wanted to put one of these threads up so I can actually keep up on the progess of the B16asshole.

As for what the Future holds for this car who knows but i got a few plans if I decide to keep it.

Looks good corey. Good luck with ur build. Mines almost running. I need to find an hf wiring harness and it should start up. If i would have researched a little more before i pulled my zc to swap in the b16 i wouldnt have sold the hf harness with the zc motor.

OK, I don't feel like reading up on it so whats the point of doing LS/VTEC when you already have a B16?

Well I'm thinking about it, but good question the reason I wanna do LS/Vtec is because I wanna bore and stroke it over more and LS blocks are everywhere and I don't wanna blow a B16a bottom end.

Ls/Vtec swaps are best because the Ls has higher tq and a longer stroke, so in theory it will make more tq and horespower.

depends on what parts you use... if you use all of the LS bottom end, you end up with a very low compression motor, so there's not a whole lot of power.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

Thats what I thought. Its seems more logical to build the B16 block. Having the car down for a rebuild shouldn't be a problem for Corey since he was wanting to pull the motor out anyway.
