The J's racing intake was designed and created for one thing and one thing only and that was for road racing where quick throttle responce and mid range power are needed more then anything else (and they still offer high rpm power also just not as much as CAI).
CAI make more power on the street then the power chamber style intakes because they have a higher intake volocity (the air in the tube is moving at a higher speed when it enters the TB) thus creating a "super charging effect"
Short ram intakes make the most power on the dyno because they have the shortest path for the air to travel but because it still has the same effects as the CAI (such as the increase in port volocity/super charging effect).
This information is FACT and based on ALOT of time spent figuring out what makes power correctly, I spend alot of my time reserching parts and gains before i buy somthing just cause it looks pretty.
The power chamber intakes are more popular now then they have been in the past because of the drop in price due to the "replicas" and because of the JDM bandwagon. People want the jdm look and style but do not want to spend the cash or time to build their cars correctly. They typically just buy a whole bunch of "look alike" parts and toss them on their car with out a plan of attack and just assume that they will flow together and this usally does not happen. Case in point 2coupes red civic.

Thanks chris for explaining that for me:icon_biggrin:
