And the Project has begun

Post by N2HIFI »

good i havent updated this in ages...

anyways we were slow at work today so i decided today was a good time to fix some small issues and finish up the interior color change. My climate controls have never lit up since i have owned the car , so today feeling spunky i decided to put the climate controls out and change the bulbs.

well after pulling out the controls and buying new bulbs i decided i wanted to make my controls a little more JDM so i wanted to do the bulb mod and paint them orange to get that SWEET JDM amber look. Well i made a quick call to silverstreak aka rob to see if he had some paint left from when he did his and not only did he deliver but he helped me pull the cluster to do ALL the bulbs.

Well i realized after pulling the cluster, controls and radio i was over 1/2 way to pulling the dash so i said f'it and pulled the dash so i can FINALLY dye it black like the rest of the interior. (used the same dye that i used on the rest of the interior )

Pics of the mods:

thanks for the help rob

tomorrow if we are slow i am going to reinstall the door molding trim (have to dye that also cause it blue Duh), retouch up the scratched panels and work on a cpl other finishing items.

You should definitely dye the trim piece black or a darker gray, it looks a little out of place, but other than that it looks AMAZING!

edit: upon further thinking that would be really dumb looking unless you dyed all of the buttons and switched too, and that would be a BIG pain in the ass.

only looks weird because of flash .. and you have to remove the dash to remove that piece (screws are on the backside of the dash and there are 10 of them )

It would also look retarded because that piece only comes in gray. OEM>YOU
