hmmm interesting... don't switch the sportlines for junk coilovers, ride comfort will suffer! instead UPGRADE the struts from eibachs to Koni yellows; the koni yellows have adjustable spring perches allowing you to lower the car further if you want to, and retain your nicer springs and handling/ ride comfort won't suffer, because you can still make it as soft or stiff as you want.bildo16;13463 wrote:i dont know wtf is up, i was tucking tire with the blades, 195/60-15's and now with these, i actually have a gap. i have eibach sportline springs and tokico struts, so i may ditch the springs and get some jank ass coilovers. i have three caps, he lost one, but i ordered four new ones last night, should be here fri.

i really dont mind ride harshness, but i do mind that f'in wheel gap. all the other pics of tegs w/ 16's that are tucking look sick, mine looks a lil high. i have tokico blue struts.Spork;13466 wrote:hmmm interesting... don't switch the sportlines for junk coilovers, ride comfort will suffer! instead UPGRADE the struts from eibachs to Koni yellows; the koni yellows have adjustable spring perches allowing you to lower the car further if you want to, and retain your nicer springs and handling/ ride comfort won't suffer, because you can still make it as soft or stiff as you want.

oh, thats your problem, the blades are 15's, of course you tucked those and not these. at stock ride height your stock wheels/tires look fine (imo) but if you throw bigger wheels on it, it looks like a 4x4, same situation with lowering springs. the bigger you go the more you need to lower it so that it keeps looking tucked.
and tokico blues are junk, they are just slightly better than stock replacemement, trust me, you want Koni yellows. you will be able to raise and lower the car more and adjust stiffness of the suspension. much better choice than crap coilovers, those springs are the nicest part of your set-up right now :biglaugh:

par tof that makes sense, but i was also tucking 18's before, i think its just the 40 series tires on these 16's. im pricing some stuff right now, so we'll see where it goes.Spork;13472 wrote:oh, thats your problem, the blades are 15's, of course you tucked those and not these. at stock ride height your stock wheels/tires look fine (imo) but if you throw bigger wheels on it, it looks like a 4x4, same situation with lowering springs. the bigger you go the more you need to lower it so that it keeps looking tucked.

konis are expensive, but worth it IMO, im on tokico illuminas that i bought <3 months ago, and I am already thinking about buying konis to replace them soon. not because im having problems, just because i want the adjustable perches.
and 18s are huge, youd probably tuck those with anything

holy shit! if i was going to spend 500 on struts, i would probably just buy tein basic coilovers. im not out trying to road race, or auto-x, i just want my car to be SLAMMED on these otas, i think i may go against you and get the faux coilovers, the price is right, and they will get the job done.Spork;13477 wrote:konis are expensive, but worth it IMO, im on tokico illuminas that i bought <3 months ago, and I am already thinking about buying konis to replace them soon. not because im having problems, just because i want the adjustable perches.

whatever, I just personally hate putting, ahem, cheap parts on my car... especially if they are replacing good ones.
but yeah, buy the coilovers and sell the springs. that way when those tokico blues blow out you have some money to buy new ones

OUCH! the sportlines specs say they lower the front and rear 1.7, but the tein springs lower the font 2.5, and rear 1.7, so i think with those, i will be where i want. on the back right now, there isnt any gap, the tire is right inside the wheelwell, the front is a bit higher. so with the teins, i think it may pu me where i want to be.:santa1:Spork;13484 wrote:whatever, I just personally hate putting, ahem, cheap parts on my car... especially if they are replacing good ones.

what? I used to see it all the time with the 3rd gen accords, the only real strut options were tokico blues or custom valved Bilsteins... all the guys went cheap with the blues(if they upgraded from the stock ones at all  ), and the slammed ones rode like ass, and blew shocks all the time :dunno:bildo16;13486 wrote:OUCH!
