ill start off with some pics of the engine bay and the harness i redid. the car is a 90 crx dx gutted came with a b16a swap but i yanked it in favor of a turbo d...

i dont have any before pics of the harness but heres a bunch of stuff i cut off and threw away...

after i was done everything soldered shrink wrapped and taped.

i redid the ecu plugs also.

last i cleaned and degreased the engine bay ill be touching up the paint before the motor goes back in.

next im focusing on swapping motors out between the two cars anything that doesnt cost money cause im broke. that tar crap on the floor boards has to go too...

havent decided yet, most likely its going in the red crx just cause i cant find a decent d-series to put in it. it should be nice and civilized for daily driving. then eventually im selling the red crx...

looks lonely just sitting there...

Just curious but why does everyone want a turbo d? You turbo a d and you pretty much have something that is equivalent to a stock b16a. Or am I wrong on that? I read an article in Honda Tuning and they did a turbo d. It was cheaper than buying a b, but if you already have the b then turbo that.

i ran a guy with a built supercharged b and all i had at the time was a turbo d... yeah we were dead even from a 40 punch all the way to 130. a turbo d is better than a stock b. even with a small turbo on a d, you may put out about the same amount of hp, but you will have a whole lot more torque with the turbo d setup.

oh also, a turbo d is lighter than a b. so theres a little bit of weight factor there.

right now im driving the car that used to have the turbo d in it, now it has the b16a and is piss slow compared to the turbo d. they most likely have around the same hp but like rick said the torque difference is crazy. and the original plan for this car was turbo ls/vtec but me being broke as i am i just threw in the turbo d. blowing up d-series is a lot cheaper than blowin up b's :D besides that its fun beatin up on people that spent a couple grand on a b swap with a d15 and a junkyard turbo setup. put it this way i expect mid to high 12's with this car theres no way a stock b16 would come close to that, even with this car gutted it only ran 14.4 with the b16 and that was with a 2.0 60'.

hm, its good deal but i like my cars too much to get rid of either one, and yeah the race car has its power it was running monday. i still have to put the ic, charge piping, and shift linkage in and fill the tranny up with oil. still need a clutch cable too. then its little stuff like installing gauges and mounting the roll cage. i want to get my hands on a racing harness too so i can take out the seat belts they probably weigh at least 10 pounds... lol

special thanks go out to shawn (boner), rick (rickles8099), and zach (io_303) for helping with getting both the cars going...
