no problem, once its clean it pretty easy to touch it up when you wash your car just using some towels and car wash soap or quick detailer. im only saying this because i screwed up and did it, do not use purple power to clean aluminum, you wont like the results! only use simple green it works well and it wont damage the aluminum.

some other things i do, use balls of aluminum foil and wd-40 to clean chrome and stainless also works well getting corrosion off aluminum parts and the foil contours the shape your working on. it doesnt scratch the surface as much as steel wool or a red scotch brite pad can.

engine bay cleaning

I let the car run for a while to get the engine and engine bay hot, then go nuts with degreaser. Let it sit for a while, respray with degreaser as necessary before hosing it down. I'm rarely bothered enough to use a pressure washer, a regular hose works fine and less chance of blowing off decals or damaging anything. Gotta be careful with degreaser and the underhood decals as sometimes it alone will ruin them.

Only problem I've ever had has been water in the plug holes causing a temporary misfire - but not very often.
