THEN PEOPLE SHOULD STEP UP AND DO IT!

I'm not yelling at you, just capitalizing that for emphasis for everyone. It kind of plays into my earlier comment about people blaming others for things they wouldnt have done on their own anyway.

I can't testify to whether this site died without GMR.... mainly because, well, I wasn't around. But people cant expect us to still put in the effort and organize events if all they want to do is talk shit on us; it's only natural that we give up.

But anyway, I am all for people taking initiative and starting some events and/or growing the community. Do that. Do a lot of that.

Didnt mean for this thread to turn into a he said she said gmr bashing. Yes gmr, spork and rob did play a big part in helping this site grow. I wish we had more people like them that would step up. I think me and jen are the only people who care besides some of the mods. But if feels like the mods dont wanna put forth the extra effort some times. I understand alot of people have got older and grow up. I have also i have 3 kids and work a full time job and no money to built cars, but some how i still have time for this site, i still put forth the effort. Shit i have even come out of pocket to put events together and not asked for a dime back. There is a shit load of active member and new ones everyday. I cant do this alone. I am down to rebuild this community but i need help people.

I am not a mod or a admin on this site, but I would love to set up a bi weekly meet, monthly cruises and more but i cant do it alone. I am asking for help. If u are down to meet up and organize something let me know. I will put all my effort i can into this. Im even going to speek to my work to sponsor events if need and im sure we could have mini car shows and meets there.

Would just like to say thanks to jen, stolle and the rest of the people who put an effort to keep this site alive. Thank you, it means alot to me and the other members who still care....

Bubble tea is a weekly meet. People normally get there around 8pm. I used to go all the time until my job didn't really allow me too. I try to come hang out there once a month.

We would actually get a pretty good turn out. 8-15 cars or so.

The site doesn't need to be saved. It's not like it's dying or anything. Members are still active and we do still help each other out. I've literally drivin another member 3 hours 1 way to get parts before, I've given parts away to help other members get their cars going. Ive woke up and gotten out of bed to take another member a wheel ans tire because they were stranded at 1am. We are still a community if I see another member out driving I'll wave.

Maybe we don't go on car cruises cause they suck. The best cruise I've ever been on was planned by rob and Steve the others sucked ass the groups got split up and people got lost.

There's gonna be drama on here because it's the Internet. "and that's just the way it is" 2pac

x2

I think activity is just slower because people have gotten older and may have grown out of the car scene a little....or a lot. Life happens.

Definitely not because of a disbanded car group.

The site slowed down a lot... Why!?

We, the OG members grew up and found other interest. The members now have kids, or houses, or different interest all together and lost track of time.

BBT used to be packed every week. We'd stay there until midnight some nights with a full lot of friends playing football and sitting around laughing and bullshitting. Now when I swing by when there is time, there MIGHT be 3-8 cars there.

Priorities take over. I spend more time and money rehabbing the house than I do in the garage. I rarely find time to get dirty clothes on to change my own oil. It sucks, but thats life. I miss cruises. I miss meeting new people and standing around all night talking to good friends that I've known for years.

I remember *GMR* Sunday nights at N2hifi's house used to be food, movies, TopGear, working on someone's car, or etc... And his house would have all 3 couches full of people, computer chairs full, standing room, and sitting on the floor... And we'd hanging out and having fun talking about cars, future plans or mods, or other bullshit... Hell, even staying up until 4am to prep for the drive to Nashville on no sleep for Import Alliance.

God, I really miss the old days. Good memories.

I'd be willing to start meeting up more after a while. I'd be nice to go have new ideas from new members pan out and work.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!

I think the car scene in general has kind of dwindled away. The track was gone for awhile so a lot of people had no motivation for it anymore. I know me personally have gotten a little out of the Honda scene since we bought the BMW and the prelude has been down. I also got a very full time job along with my part time job so time is a big issue. I am off Friday so maybe stop by bbt on thursday and say hello.

Tom and I went for just a cruise a couple weeks ago and we saw NO ONE and by no one not even a mustang, and we went pretty far. It was kind of dissapointing, but like someone else said maybe it will start back up here soon since the track is up and running again.
