Local authorities were not as bad....now it seems like they treat racing worse than first degree murder. Don't get me wrong....I'm not saying racing on public roads is right, but there are smart ways and not so smart ways of doing it.

And like J.M.P. said, I like to cruise on cruises....but sometimes it does seem like a gumball rally. I like to get an occasional pull in....but only if conditions are right.
This.

And this.

I too are gettng old :(

The last cruise river road cruise I was on turned into nothing more than a gumball rally for Jordan (delslo) and myself because everyone left us at the gas station and didn't alert us we were leaving. That is NOT how a cruise should be. And for crx91, the reason why no one joins is because people want to cruise and not rally race through backroads. Doing the speed limit is a cruise. Not 90+ on winding roads with innocent civilians.
I used to be very active until one time I showed up at bubble tea and I was the only person there so I said F it and rarely go anymore. The only meets I usually go to anymore are ones not in the stl area because well...they know how to set up meets and events and the n**bs are minimal.

I was super into my car a few years ago and went to multiple meets, but like others I have moved on to bigger and better things. I went back to school at night which stopped me from going to BBT and then I bought my house and no longer had the spare money/time to do things to the car. Now its just basic upkeep and driving it for fun when I get the chance.

I guess overall I decided there were better ways to spend my time and money. Having my own house is > than having a cool car.

This thread makes me laugh... its like society. Noone ever wants to take the time to plan or organize anything, but EVERYONE sure has plenty of time to whine and moan about the fact that noone "else" is setting something up.

Meets don't have to be huge ordeals... could be as many as 3-5 people kickign it at rickles garage or beautiful sunday.. and u post at 10am that ur going on a cruise at noon.. won't get a big turn out but posted in the right areas you can atleast get a person or two from the site i'm sure to join you and then you meet and go from there..

Things snowball fairly easily and quickly... hardest part is always the first step .

This place seems mostly the same to me but I don't come here often. Gateway being down for a year killed a lot of the car shit. But now that's it back, other things are back in full force (The Lot, etc) and it's just taking a bit of time for the rest to catch up.

The car scene always has it's twists and turns, this is just one of those. It's not necessarily anyone's fault.

Quoted for truth, we stopped caring and that pretty much shut the site down

Jen has offered many times to help set up cruises, meets AND a stlhondas booth at MM and all shot down by the owner and other mods of this site so.... This site just dosnt have the organization, drive or want to do anything anymore.
To clarify what Chris means, is that I put in a lot of effort with the track using contacts and also emailing the track itself to get a booth going and while I did this, Stolle also emailed the track. Unfortunately this confused them and now I don't get any answers on my emails because they don't know who they are supposed to talk to. And so even though I have been at every MM we still don't have a booth because I can't get an answer. I'm not blaming Stolle for this because he was trying to help, but it is a very good example of the disorganization that doesn't help getting anything set up.

And of course the breakfast cruise I had posted for the mods to discuss and nobody had anything to say about it so of course, nothing happened. I generally would like to run organized gathering by everyone but if you don't want to discuss I'll just post and go. So tonight when I get home I will pick a date and post the details.

The dyno days always turn out good, who cares if it's the same people?

And for those expecting weekly meets, that's ridiculous. How many people on this board have kids, jobs, A LIFE? If you want a weekly hang out then do it, there are already numerous spots, and if you want bubble tea back then post in the bubble tea thread and get people to show up. I am not your mother, Rob is not your mother, GMR is not your mother, and nobody needs to hold anyones hand to go to BBT. If people go on a regular basis, then others will be more willing to show up on the chance that someone might be there.

Honestly, most forums that I have been a part of only have one or two large gatherings a YEAR. Everything else is generally random get togethers members put together to hang out or go to another organizations meet.

thanks ymisoqt. i know the mods/admin/owner of the site is human and mistakes can happen, but i dont want anyone that is helping run the site deter anything positive from happening.

as for as the lack of communication on the mods/admins/owners, i agree, we need better communication. no communication is just as bad as bad communication.

I would think most of us are not lemmings, and this (^^^) would not be the case. And if I read into that statement, it sounds like you are putting yourself on a pedestal.

Thats just what I get out of it, and it instantly turns me off.

My apologies if I misunderstand.
