I was thinking to begin planning a monthly (simple) cruise like every 3rd or 4th sunday. make it a regular thing and peopel go to the ones they can. This month is crazy for me though since its do or die for my career but the month of July looks good.

I completely agree with most things said here.. tons of douches out there, and some cruises do turn into a gumball run to the finish (why i think a cruise should also take the time to toss out a simple map with atleast beginning end and checkpoints so they can meet up with us.)

But i also agree with the fact that always seems like tons and tons of people on heres cars are "down/on jacks" Lets me honest having our car there makes it better but the social aspect is why I went, so i'd roll up in moms minivan to kick it.

@Anything honda, i'm sure I could use some help cooridinating something but Ill plan to get this going in july and each month after that and we'll see what happens.

Also a lot of us are older now and moving on to bigger things. Buyin houses getting career jobs and the like. We just don't have time to make it to a meet on the weekends where it's full of 16 year olds doing burnouts and other ricer stuff.
Well I guess I'm kinda an OG but I'm not OLD damnit! Ok...well I guess since I bought my 18 year old daughter a Honda I might be a lil older than I think I am...:icon_bigsmurf:

But on another note...with having a 3 year old daughter it does make it a lil hard to get together at the last minute. It would have to be planned a month ahead of time for me to make it.

Wow I have been waiting a while for this thread. I'm happy someone else feels this way too. I don't consider my self an OG, but I have been on th board for quite some time now. I am unsure why thing went down hill, but it probably has something to do with the small # of really active members. And when I say "active" I mean going out and doing things not just posting in the forums. We need to start the BBT meet again, that way new, younger members can get a chance to meet us older guys. And new guys, don't be afraid to come over and say hi at a meet. I know that's how I am sometimes. Most of the members are pretty cool, some can be aholes (myself included) but usually we are just busting your balls (or vag) (ah well maybe that doesnt sound right, but you know what I mean).

Anyway! BBT Thursday, 8pm. If you want directions shoot me a PM. Also if you have a better idea, let me know, we can move the meet to a different location everyweek, that way everyone can come out.

Oh and I will not be as active as I have been recently due to my new job, but I will still check the board daily.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I have to agree with some of the other member as far as respecting the location when you come to a meet. Please don't do burnouts or try to drift at a meet. you don't need to show off, just come hangout.

I still pop into events and cruises when I am free. Here are my usual reasons for not attending.

Ricers: (not just ricer cars, but disrespectful individuals. Burnouts/revving/stereo blasting. If I show up to an event.... and there is even one car with its stereo cranked up. I'm already put off. The meet is NOT the club, and I shouldn't have to yell to talk to other attendees.)

Cliques: I'm one of the most social people I've ever met. Some events, you all stand around like the boys and girls at and 8th grade dance. Everyone stays in their comfort zone and does not show openness toward others.

Elitists: You shitbags hate on every car that isn't done the way "you'd" have done it. It's like listening to women pick apart a hot girl across the bar.

ALL of the above mentioned reasons dominate the car scene, these reason are not limited to stlhondas.

wasnt there a stlhonda meet not too long ago? i think it was a dyno day or something. there is usually at least one a year. did everyone forget about that those?

the weekly meets died out not because of people doing dumb stuff. people just stopped showing up. every week less and less showed up. i watched it happen first hand. 3 weeks straight it was down to 2-3 people.

also rob stopped setting up meets.

The two dyno days had good turn outs IMO but it was the same exact people at each.

Wasn't it the same day of the week as the other one? I can't make meets on weekends for real because I work. I know a lot of others have jobs where they work nights and weekends also. I used to go to bbl tea every week. Sometimes I still show up.

Also another big factor that kinda killed it for me was when the track closed. I know it's open now but my job doesn't really give me time to go. When the track shut down I pretty much lost interest in my cars. That plus me losing my job put things in the back burner. Then I grew up. Now I want to get married move out of the ghetto and finish school to move up in the world. I love cars and mostly Hondas but sometimes you gotta get your shit together. I'm at an age where it's not practical for me to have 3 cars. I sold the s2000 to buy a ring and will be parting out most of the civic. Most of my extra money goes into an IRA now and I'm trying to save to fund a business startup within the next 6 years. It's just how things go.
gudg racing you're never gonna catch me!!
