I'm not sure what you mean... I don't have an account over there that I recall, so if someone's discussing this, they're on their own. I'd be curious what they're saying, though.J.M.P;294161 wrote:Giving you a hard time on KCSR I'd say.

Wow, sorry to hear about your loss (the car) but I'm glad to hear your son is alive and mostly unharmed. I hope they can get enough out the person who did it to charge him and make him pay for what he did!!

Yep. That's it. Chris swerved to minimize the impact a bit, and because the guy came over into his lane as well and ran him onto the shoulder. The car started to fishtail and that was all it took. I just hadn't gotten any pics posted yet. It's in the garage now to keep water and local dbags out.
Thanks for the link!

I don't know the guy is, but he made this thread about it to. Got himself banned from it as well.

I see that. Looks like he got banned for a non-related issue, though.
Again, however, I want to thank everyone for their support.
I got a call from the Highway Patrol officer this afternoon who assisted us. He arrested the guy today, and has him in custody now. He's asked for estimates on whether or not the car is repairable or a total loss, and if totaled, what it would cost to build a new one exactly like it again so he knows how to charge the offender (misdemeanor or felony).
I've had the owner of our local body shop (who lives nearby and has the shop close as well) stop by and look at the car. He was shocked at the amount of damage, and easily without fudging turned out a $7500 repair estimate. He told me that he wouldn't advocate repairing the car because with that amount of side body/frame damage, it would never be as safe again.
And I've been working up an estimate to build up a new one just like what he had by buying one that's currently for sale locally (but obviously the wrong color), and changing everything to as close as possible to what was on the car. That's an even scarier total, and it wasn't even heavily modified.
This other driver really screwed up....
