Gotta say Thanks!

We were on our way to the meet in Columbia yesterday from Jeff City with a fairly large group (I think most from here) when another driver caused my son to total out his yellow JDM front Integra. I kind of figured that with an accident of that nature, that you guys would stop and relate what you'd witnessed and then go on to the meet. But you ALL went above and beyond, by sticking with us until the HP officer was ready to head out, by sending someone after the driver that caused it, and by making sure that we knew how to get back in touch.

I've been around cars and car communities for many many years, and never seen this kind of asssistance given before. Plain and simple, you guys rock!

We're obviously still waiting on lots of information, but that's to be expected. Chris is fine today...sore but fine. I can't thank you enough. Keep in touch...we will.

I'm glad your son is ok given what happened. What did the other driver do to cause the accident though and what was going on that made them rage that way?

It's the tightness of some of the local groups like this that keep me looking for something to stay in the car scene around here with.

My son and the car behind him were following me, and they had just pulled on at the entrance ramp, when the other driver wanted to merge from the next ramp along (the other side of the overpass). They moved into the left lane and let him merge, no problem. Well, the other driver worked his way between Chris and Devon (behind him) and continued to ride bumpers trying to push Chris along. When Chris wouldn't move ahead, and wanted to move behind me, the other driver moved in behind me almost close enough to hit me and threw a nearly full pop can at Chris's rear quarter and tried to shove him into the median. When Chris took the safe way out, the car started to fishtail and he couldn't recover. He ended up spinning out, sliding into the median, and hitting the cable guardrails on the far side of the median, facing back the way he came. It tipped up on the passenger wheels, blew out the sunroof and the passenger window, and came to rest on all four. The guardrail saved his life...he'd have rolled into oncoming traffic if it wasn't for that.

It's the guys here locally, that my son introduced me to, that make me want to get back into the car scene.

Holy Shit!!! I'm very glad that your son is ok then, cause it sounds like it could've ended up a whole lot worse than what it ended up being. Hopefully the authorities were able to catch this guy and will throw the book at him for his actions here.

Wow glad he's ok! Was the driver who caused all this a part of the site?

Thanks. Me too. He doesn't think that the car came up on two wheels, and he may be right. Regardless, the other driver was wrong. All I know for certain is that I'm glad he's fine, and the car can be replaced. It may have been his dream car, but it's still only a car. It can't compare to a life. Thanks again, everyone!

Didn't see the other question... No, that other driver wasn't a part of this site at all. Just some random angry dude who tried to run from his actions. He'll get his due.

Yeah, you're right. I'm just hoping that they actually get enough of a confession out of him to get it on the report and get something from his insurance. That's the start. Then, we go from there...

My son is wanting to buy back the car to part it out, and has already been looking at what parts are salvageable. Making him wait until a determination is made is rough.
