Anyone work for ups?

Post by horn12007 »

Need to know if its a go or no go...
had interview today for package unloader/handler. It went well and a few hours later the manager left a message asking to call back.

After thinking about it i only get between 17.5 and 20 hrs. start off at 8.50 and up to 9.50 after 3 months. The benefits dont kick in for a year and this ups location does not have tuition reimbursement which sux.

Anyone do this job? Worth it?

My question is do u have a job now? It is very hard to get a job. Even part time is nice. If you feel you wont be able to get anything ft in 6 months why not join the armed forces and work this pt till u leave?
Just my 2 cents

If you live at home or have a second job its nice, my brother worked there when he was going to mizzou at the columbia warehouse then transferred to earth city when he graduated, he said working in columbia was better because the guys at st louis are douche bags.

On the flip side, my dad worked for UPS for 31 years in management, almost hit his 35 year retirement point but got fed up with the teamsters and cut out early.

Its not bad if you absolutely need something and dont want to work at mcdonalds, but keep your looking around for something else while youre there.

You don't know what you're talking about. You're not very smart, and the things you're saying are nonsense. And I'm not angry. But you do need to shut up.

My dad was a driver for 32 years and just retired because of all the bullsh*t. Loved the job just not the politics that came with it!

Already did the military for 6 years. Im a college student so im looking for part time only. Heard the work is tough especially for the pay. I mean i could probably get a job at an auto parts store for the same money. the main thing is i would really need a few more hours per week at that pay since they take out union fees....

Not against working hard, but at near minimum wage im not sure if its worth it...

When I first moved up here, UPS was my target. I knew they had Tuition Reimbursement and Healthcare for a PART TIME position. Basically the same one you're looking at. I loved the Job. Stayed fit, because you do work hard. I was respected by the bosses for working hard. However, there are plenty of lazy dbags, who know that the Union will save them, so they just slack off. I thought it was a good job to get me by while in school. No Reimbursement sucks to hear but, if you're not looking for a full-time I'd think this wasn't a bad job for ya.

Terrible job... They will offer you the amount they want to pay you. You will then go in and start working and then they will let you come in later, which at first you think is cool so you can sleep in a little longer or whatever, but it's their way of having you come in later to make you do more work in less tiem to pay you less... great way to fool you by , "come in later, but get more done by the normal ending time" so this also means less money.

I stayed there 3 months.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!

For that pay I would suggest pass. My fiance got a job through cl just uploading information for a lawn care company paying that much. Just sat at a computer for 8 hours. Boring work but it worked while she looked for a job dealing with child care which is what she normally does. My point is there are a lot less strenuous jobs out there that pay that amount.
