anyone computer savvy?

Post by civicex »

well yesterday i bought my girlfriend sims 3 and i know her computer can handle it very easy i've updated her drivers and other things i mean i'm not the best with computers but i'm not bad i know a substantial amount of things and i've tried everything i can to fix it but, the problem is after about 15 minutes of her playing the computer shuts off so i reinstalled sims didn't help but after 5minutes or so the fan kicks on very heavy i'm a standstill. any ideas?

sims is known to give ppl issues. you have to have a super computer to play it.

take it to Renner Technology in Fairview Heights IL if your near there. I know the owner and his staff will take care of anyone.

Looks like your running a crappy dual core like I am on my desktop. Should be enough RAM, how long have you had this with what windows versioN?

SIMS 3 was a pain to get working

Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent
2.0GHz (XP)
2.4GHz (Vista or 7) [If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.]

You probably need to turn the graphics settings down low, or upgrade lol.
I can find pretty good deals on new pc's. I built mine 4 years ago above the specs for sims3 for about $400, granted stuff got way cheaper since then.
Depending if you feel like spending the $$ for future proof, you can probably get a nice kit for less than 300.

laptops typically cant play games well, unless its a gaming laptop, and that is not lol.
my advice, get a gaming laptop or stick with desktop.
