cobalt squeek front passenger side when turning

Post by sirricealot »

after install of front lowering springs i now notice a squeek when i turn at low speeds or in driveway, its very annoying.

I jacked the car up on both sides and turned the wheel and it didnt make the noise, but i went to the passenger side and started twisting the spring and heard it a little. it looks like the bottom hat or cup moves a little and allows the spring to twist a little, hence the sound.
my question is,
what needs to be done so it doesnt make the noise anymore??
guy i know at advance auto also said it could be the rubber bushing on the top just needs some silicone spray or the hardware for that strut is bad.

What do you all think?

p.s. posted here bc idk where to post for cobalt.

Any help is awesome, thanks!

Only one side does it, and only at low speeds while turning the wheel. I think it has something to do with the strut cup

Clay(06sik*) did it for me, I think he did. It wasn't making nose until a week after. The cup on the bottom side of the strut under the spring moves a little
