Isn't the stock size 2 1/4? cause the inlet for the new muffler was 2.5Rich;280058 wrote:Some of the cobalt guys seem to like the dynomax super turbo muffler its a cheap muffler but its also aluminized... But I had one on my old 2.3 mustang and it sounded pretty decent.
If you do a muffler I recommend getting the 2.5" over the axle pipe. I think OTTP sells them.
you can do that or just find a cheap used catback on ss.net.
My catback ran 400 shipped and its stainless but its probably more than you want to spend and its probably louder than youd like (SLP).

where did you get yours welded on at?
mine should be here friday. but shouldnt i wait to get it on until after i have the car lowered?
not sure if it would effect the position when i lower the car.

Stock size is 2.5" to my knowledge but its crimped down in 2 places. Over the axle and in the factory downpipe. I think TTR sells a cti over axle pipe for 90 bux to eliminate that issue. Its honestly not a huge deal though unless your truly going for performance.sirricealot;280304 wrote:Isn't the stock size 2 1/4? cause the inlet for the new muffler was 2.5
I think you should be fine. your not actually changing any of the piping just the muffler. Plenty of cobalts on sportlines and such that have the stock catback still. btw our catbacks are the same as the supercharged cobalts.sirricealot;280466 wrote:highland is pretty far for me.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Hope this helps
Yes I own 2 slow red chick cars & 1 real car!

why dont they advertise the catbacks for 2.0 and 2.4 then?? i always thought the expensive ones or the pacesetter ones are what would have fit lol.Rich;280500 wrote:Stock size is 2.5" to my knowledge but its crimped down in 2 places.
