Yeah, lowering it is one of the easiest things you can do, as the stock bolts in it allow you to drop it a good amount. Both mine and my dads are lowered almost all the way on the stock ones and the ride didn't suffer at all. You can take the rubber bushing out and cut it in half to really slam it, or buy an aftermarket kit as well, but then you won't really be able to go many places with it cause it'll be way to low.
Yeah I'll prob keep the stock exhaust so it doesn't annoy me on road trips. As for the bolts, are they pretty easy to replace? I did notice the ones on eBay, all it is are rubber bushings and grade 8 hardware. I def don't want it too low and like you said I don't want ride to suffer at all or too much

You don't HAVE to replace them at all if you don't want. IIRC, the stock bolts offer something like 2 inches or so of adjustment, which is more than enough for these cars. Mine and my dads both have about 1/2 inch left before the stock bolts are maxed out. You really don't want to replace them unless they're either worn out, or you want it totally slammed. It's a really simple process to lower it, and the whole car can be done in 30mins with two wrenches if you know what you're doing.

Yeah i'll probably stick with the stock ones if the bolts are fine.
i dont wanna go past 2 inches. i think 1, 1 1/2 is good enough. Found out my cobalt is longer than a corvette, vette is smaller on height and only like 2 inches wider lol.
I've been doing some research on custom sub enclosures and found JL Audio Stealthbox. It has a 10" W3 and a custom enclosure for 699.
Idk if N2HIFI can get me something better and cheaper but so far thats what i'll look at.
Ive been scoping out a Z06 for a few months thats in my price range and low miles, if its still there in april, im pouncing on it.
Other than that there is one in ofallon but its a base convertible.
I'd rather get the z06 tho.

The Z06 is nice, but you have to be careful with them. A lot are getting to the point now where they've beat on most of their life and will start to show the signs. Mileage doesn't really matter if it's lived a hard life. Also, stay away from the 01' or older Vettes, they have oil consumption issues from the factory that were revised in 02'+ C5s. Look the car over really well for any sign of mods or former mods that may have been taken off, that's a bad sign usually on these cars. And in general, just look the car over really well, even getting it on a lift to look under it if possible. Check out all the electronics as well, cause if something goes out, it can be a nightmare to track the gremlin down and expensive to replace as well.

I haven't looked into a sound system for mine, but I do see that Stealth box pop up for sale from time to time, as it's one of the better boxes out there for these cars apparently. I originally bought mine as a backroads cruiser/DD and autocross toy, but after going to an event and riding around with some experienced drivers, it's just more abuse that I wanted to put the car through. I'll still hit the twistes with it, but could never bring myself to hit a course with it. (Obviously mine isn't a Z, and neither is my dads, but they're great cars). Lastly, if you don't get a Z, get either a convertible or the FRC. I have a targa and wish I had got a convertible now; I hate taking the top out cause of the wind noise.

This helps out a lot thanks. Yeah I've been wondering why some of the C5's are cheaper, I plan to get the extended warranty and def know what to look for now. I think the z06 ive been looking at is an 01, and I think the convertible is an 02 base. I never thought i'd get a convertible but that might be a pretty good option. I'll focus more on the z06 though. I'll probably talk with Custom Sounds about upgrading the stereo at some point. Maybe a few months after I get the car. I have looked at the carfax on one of them and it had 3 owners, averaging about 3 years each.

Why does it have the 405 hp badge on a 01?

Because all C5 Z06's have 405hp. the C6 Z have 505hp. The C5 coupes and verts all have about 350ish hp.

Oh.
Idk why i see places that it was 385 for the 01...

Starting with the 2002 model year, the LS6 engine output was increased to 405 hp (302 kW) due to a larger CFM air intake, stiffer valve springs, lighter sodium filled valves, more aggressive camshaft lift and timing, lighter pistons, and revised engine block.
