It's a good possibility that my wife, or I, or both of us will get hired on at SIUE. Since we would be technically working for the state, we would be required to hold an Illinois residence. Edwardsville seems pretty nice, so we'll probably move there and be near the campus. We'll see... that is still a few months away.

Thanks for all the replies!

What will you be doing at SIUE? I'm currently a student there. Edwardsville is a very nice town. The only downsides to it is that the housing costs are a lot higher than the surrounding area.

Brian, (4door)

You went way above and beyond the call of duty today. You gave of yourself and helped out a total stranger. Good for you. To you and to everyone else who offered to help, THANKS!

Now... screw my bro-in-law. I talked to him before I read your post, Brian. As far as I'm concerned, he is now on his own. I mean... Brian went over there and checked all these things and was ready to continue helping out to get the car running, and my bro sent Brian on his way so that he and his wife can go hang out with friends and shit. Screw that. This guy routinely goes over 10k between oil changes, and hasn't even tuned the thing up since the 90's. He's been running with a bad O2 sensor for as long as I can remember, the car is out of alignment, he never cleans it, the exhaust is falling apart... Brian, if he calls you, do not go over there. Tell him you are busy at work, you are really tired, you have plans with your dad, maybe next week, etc. It pisses me off, because I come on here asking for help, and he acts like he has better things to do.

I have a prediction: That car is going to rot in his driveway until I buy it from him (for cheap). Then, I'll invite everyone from stlhondas over for beers and pizza and a little wrenching. We'll have a coming-out celebration to welcome a new EG hatch project into the St Louis Honda scene.

Brian, He did tell me to thank you and that he totally appreciated that you went to his house and worked on his car for him (for free). But seriously, make up some excuse if he calls you back... unless you want to charge him money... like shop-rate ($55-$70 an hour)... Thanks again, man. I owe you one. Big time.
