Tire opinions?

Post by 02Type-S »

The RSX and the Integra both need tires before winter. We don't want snow tires on either car, looking for a high performance all season.

What tires would you reccomend for all round performance including slick/snowy conditions? I've had the Continental Extreme Contacts that well, but I'd like your experiences.

Thanks!

The Falken 512's I absolutely loved and they were amazing for me in the winter. I have heard good things about the Hankook Ventas, that's what's on the BMW now.

The 512s are good tires, I've used them before and they got my Saturn and my Maxima through Missouri winter gracefully. I also would recommend the Sailun Atrezzo Z4+AS sold by Dobbs, less then $100/each. I was hesitant to buy off brand tires but they have proven their worth on my Accord. They ride like Michelins and grip corners as well or better then the Kumho Ecsta ASXs I had on there before. To be fair though, I don't know how well they'll handle winter yet. We'll see.

Wow, I was actually about to make a thread just like this. I'm in the same boat.

I'll have to check out the 512's. Anyone else have experience with the Kumho Ecsta ASX's? Those seem to be pretty decent for the price and are what I'm currently leaning towards.

I'd go with the newer Falken ZE-912's. I've had many sets of them, they're great all season performance tires.

Hmmm, the 912s are only $5 more and has 40,000 mi warranty where the 512s are 30,000. I might have to get those when mine wear out.

Yokohama TRZ. Cheap, great dry, wet, and snow traction and I've gotten roughly 50k out of both sets on my Si.
