Good Zombie Books

Half of the first episode, a few of the characters and the night attack were the only things that link the tv show with the books. I think if it were on a different network like showtime or hbo they would probably stick more to the books due to the fact that they get violent as shit but AMC is doing an alright job on keeping it under a cable network.
Agreed. I know why they had to tone it down and it lost a lot of it's appeal to me on TV due to that fact. I can't tell you how many times I've gone out, picked up the book and then mention that i have new books...

"Josh, can I borrow books 6+7 now?
- "Oh yeah man, but you are NEVER going to believe what happened to them now!"

Currently I'm pretty much up to date and have the first 13 books, if anyone wants to sit down and borrow them, they are more than welcome to do it. You'll fly through them since you'll get addicted and won't want to put them down.

As for the book followers... All I have to say is "PRISON" and "THE MAYOR". If the TV show incorporated those in, I might like it again

You don't know what you're talking about. You're not very smart, and the things you're saying are nonsense. And I'm not angry. But you do need to shut up.

The Mayor situation would probably be WAY too graphic and f***ed up for TV to be honest.

Also, the show needs Michonne! Just saying

I know it's not zombie related, but my wife wrote a graphic vampire novel called "The Clan", and you can get it on amazon.com (shameless plug)

My friend is currently reading "Vampire Survival Guide" and says it's pretty good so far. If he likes it I'll suggest he checks out your wife's book.

There's the walking dead graphic novels that are really good, those are the only ones I can think of. I know Josh has a few more to add to this

"Day by Day" and "Day of Exile" I am going to read after "Zombie Survival Guide". Same friend I mentioned above read the sequal in one night. He said it was so good he couldn't put it down.

They said from the get go that it wasn't going to follow the graphic novels, just be very loosely based on the characters and story line of them. There is a lot of shit television and the walking dead is def not in that category. The character development and acting is actually very good. I think your being a little too cynical in your analysis of the show.

I agree with you Dan. I knew the show was going to be 100% different from the books and that is the thing that pisses me off. The acting, I would say is fair;y decent and the story line and where it's going has potential as well, and the amoutn of working going into the zombies on the show is fantastic... but I'm stating that had they follwed the books, the show would have been greater than where it currently is.

But this is my opinion and i've felt this strongly on / against the show since episode 1... but like i said, calling it terrible wasn't the best wording for it, but it could have been better in my eyes.

And I still think Shane needs to die.

I hear what your saying, and I'm sure if I was as up to date on the books as you are I would likely think the same.

I did order WWZ on amazon the other day. I wanted to read it before the movie comes out (which I am really looking forward to since Brad Pit is staring in it and producing it).

Not a zombie book but Level 26 by Anthony E. Zukier is a damn good book. And it has videos for in between chapters to fill in all the empty spaces usually found while reading.

I'm almost worried in thinking that we are better off watching the movies and shows and then reading the books afterwards to not be let down.
