Should I do this to my rims?

Post by Kolk1 »

2 of my stock rims have pretty bad paint chips, and one has light curb rash from the previous owner. So im thinking about plasti-dipping them all black, but then do a 6mm red stripe around the outside lip. I found a pic of a white one with stock black rims, BUT I have the 19s with Red Brembo brakes, these are the 18s with normal brakes, but its pretty close. Cost would be about $15 and totally reversible, and Im thinking new rims in spring anyway, and keep these as winter wheels.

Imagine Red Brembos, and Red pin stripe. And Im not lowering mine until spring.

I think it looks better with silver wheels. How did the paint start chipping on the two wheels?

If your going to do it, I would opt out on the red pin stripe. Just my opinion.

They are painted from the factory, and they used like a black primer. The back 2 wheels are covered in black chipped out marks.

I think black wheels look terrible on most colors.

My other Idea was gunmetal, but that wouldnt be reversible. Some people have laid down plastidip, and then painted over it, and it said it would still peel off. So I could try that, but its not as smooth.

I would love to do Black Chrome, but that shits expensive.

I did part of my bumper in plasti-dip, we put like 3 coats on and its starting to chip, granted its the lower portion of my bumper so it has more contact with rocks and shit than wheels, if it doesnt turn out you can always just peel it off.

You don't know what you're talking about. You're not very smart, and the things you're saying are nonsense. And I'm not angry. But you do need to shut up.
