Best shop for honda/tuner work

Post by horn12007 »

plz move/let me know if in wrong area.

alright I've rebuilt an lsvtec with turbo etc. (not the big issue). I changed it over from obd0 to obd1 and running hondata. I know almost nothing of hondas/acuras and didn't grow up around them. I can get my car to run, but it is running crazy rich. I've tried making adjustments on hondata but still no budge. I did put the hondata setting on stock injectors (even though im running 440s) and it seems to run a tad better but still nowhere close.

Anyways, with my little knowledge of hondas and absolutely no idea on the computers should I just take it to a shop just to get the fine details out? The semester is almost over so I should have more time for it so I'm not sure if I should keep messing with it or just get it to a shop so I can finally drive it.

Where is the best shop around for these cars and hondata? Obviously I see advertisements for Lowe. I'm just wondering if/who you do you guys use? thanks

Do you have a base map for 440 injectors loaded onto the hondata? Are you using the correct impedance injectors? You should not be running a stock injector base setting on those injectors

The injectors were on the car before I rebuilt it. I'm pretty sure they came from a mitsubishi. I know i shouldn't be running stock injector basemap, but it ran better on that. I only ran it for a few minutes. I haven't really driven it with that. I do have some stock gsr injectors.....maybe I should use those?

no, you should be able to get a basemap for it, i wouldnt drive it around without doing that and even with a basemap it needs to be tuned before driving it too much. it will run way rich on the stock injector map.
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...

Oh yea im definetely gonna take it to a tuner. I tried 2 or 3 basemaps, One of them was almost exactly how I had my car set up and that one didn't work good at all.

Yea the easiest thing to do is just take it to a tuner. If you going to be by KC you could always take it to Revline, he has tons of basemaps for hondas. But hey, on the positive, atleast your not running crazy lean:girl:

You said the injectors where on it when you bought it, why did you have to rebuild it and if they are 450's ( dsm injectors are 450's ) then they are not the right resistance and should have either a resistor box wired in or resistors wired into the injectors somewhere

I think it has a resistor box. Some of the wiring from the injectors go there. Like I said I don't know shit about this.
I had to rebuild the motor because it was originally a b20 vtec and the cylinders went out. Cracked every one.
So I went to junkyard got a b18 threw some eagle rods and wiseco pistons in. It had a zdyne ecu but everyone said to go to hondata so I did that.

Yea I don't think I will be anywhere close to KC. But thanks for the idea. Hell maybe I will get bored and take it there but really doubt it.

which hondata do you have?

can you take some pics of what you think might be your resistor box?

It looks like a really small amp....maybe 2x4 inches.

Do you have a wideband?

I have self-tuned my car on about 17psi......ran for about 4-5 years before I had a few boostcut issues. I used ectune / crome / uberdata.....but the basics of everything is fairly similar.
