factory head gasket! hondas original design with the mls headgasket has held up to countless amounts of high horse power cars

Look up fjt custom length rods. They might be a little cheaper and they are designed for vitara
pistons only. They are longer than stock length rods which will raise the compression ratio up
to a better level. As for the headgasket. A honda oem mls will work just fine with some arp
Headstuds. Porting the oil pump won't hurt. Its more of an issue with Y7 and Y8 motors though.

To suggest a good setup we need to know what your goals for the engine and car are.

I'm using the YCP 75mm Vitaras with standard length Tuner Toys H-Beams, Hastings Rings, ACL Bearings and a Fel-Pro MLS Head Gasket. In my opinion, YCPs are the way to go over the Nippons. They've been proven to work well and are very high quality. Although I'm using standard length H-Beams, I'd prefer to use the FJ R-Spec I-Beams and would suggest it for your build like v-tecivic recommended. They bring the compression back up closer to stock. I've used the Fel-Pro gaskets on a few engines and never had any issues with them. The OEM Honda gasket is about the same price. The Fel-Pro gasket is usually easier to get for me so that's why I chose it. As for head studs and rod bolts, I'm using ARPs which work great. However, the ARP head studs that you linked will not work for a D16Z6 longblock. You'll need head studs that are made for the D16Z6 if that's the block and head combo you're going to use.

With my setup I'm aiming for 300 WHP/ 230-240 lbs.-ft. torque on pump gas. I might push it a little further with the addition water/methanol injection.

didn't realize i posted the wrong link. sorry

hoping to push 14-18psi and have my motor hold up aimimg for close to 300whp, i can make it simple just sell me your motor rob... i'm just kinda new at build a bottom end and it looks like its getting very costly, knotching the block, i can't do this so must pay to have it done, there is alot i am still looking into but most be done cause i cant run 10psi on my bone stock motor forever..

do i need to micro polish my crank or can i just re use it cause its good?
do i need a block gaurd?
how much does it run to knotch my block and hoam my block, or can some on here do it?
is the vitara setup i posted a good setup for 300whp on 14-18psi?
are my 450cc injectors big enough for 18psi will they put down enough fuel?

Haha, I'll be keeping the engine for a while. At least until I finish my B18C. You're probably going to get a lot of opinions here, but here's mine.

Notching the block can be done with the use of a Dremel. Here's how it's done...

As long as the crankshaft isn't scared, you should have no issues.

Block guards seem to cause more harm then good. Lots of people have no issues with the stock sleeves at the power level you're aiming for.

Like I said, the notching you can do yourself. The hone (Or bore if necessary) will need to be done by a machine shop.

As vtecivic and I suggested, go with the FJ Distributors Kit and you shouldn't have any problem with your power goals so long as the engine and car are built properly. It can be found here...

450cc injectors most likely will not work. This will help you decide what injectors you need...

1. id suggest yes i have done budget builds without but if your investing money into it i would
2. nope vteccivic runs without a block gaurd and he is just fine you should be fine with factory sleves
3.you can do all that at home with some patince and the right tools
4. honestly idk lol it seems good that would be a question for someone that has used them
5. depends on your fuel system upgraded pump? fmu? ajustable fpr? im thinking they will work if you run around 60-65 psi fuel pressure
turbo lag psh? boost is only a down shift away
