alarm + stolen remote

Post by IshbOO »

hey, didnt know where to post this,

My gf had her purse stolen with her keys and alarm remote.

She doesn't know what alarm she has.

We got new keys, but not yet a new remote, we are having trouble contacting the guy who installed the alarm.

Anyone know who to call? I really need to move this car today. I'm guessing I need someone to come program a new remote or something. If I open the door the alarm will trigger, and I'm pretty sure I can't start the car.

Or is there anyway to shut the alarm off, once i get in the car? I just really need to move the car, its blocking my mailbox.

Get in, turn key on, press the valet button (usually under the dash) and alarm will turn off. Unless they actually gave a crap, you'll see the alarm when you look up by the steering column. You can then identify the make of the alarm. If you can't find a valet switch, PM me and I'll tell you how to disable the alarm.

Sweet I was reading something about the valet mode, and some people say their key has to be on the On position. Guess Im gonna go ahead and give it a try.

Thanks ryan, I'll send you a pm If I cant find it. LOL my neighbors are gonna be pissed if I cant stop it.

I'm gonna try it once I get home, in about 25 mins.

Forgot to mention its a 96 firebird. the ignition is locked wont let us turn anything, and we cant find the valet switch.

Still cant get ahold of the installer.

pulled the ground off the battery and the car is still sitting there...

Yeah, you have to have a key that is correct to make the ignition turn. The alarm has nothing to do with the key not turning...
