You obviously gave some sort of shit to waste your time typing that comment

But thanx to everyone else who gave me some decent info

My goals for whatever car I end up doing is a car I can get in and just have fun in...doesn't have to be outrageous power...I'd like it to be halfway reliable cause I might drive it to school/work every now and then

well ive heard stories that they were pretty unreliable but didnt know if it was just a myth or not...i just want a car that i can work on and take my time to do it right and have fun with it when im done...i could build a turbo honda, but id rather have a "factory" turbo engine in a car

Definitely not the rotary for reliability reasons. If you want rwd, have you considered a Lexus SC?

ive seen a couple Sc's but dont know much about them and what swap/turbo suppport they have...my whole reason for this is a project not a dd or drift project or anything like that...and i thought about just buying a car with a swap done but i wanna do the swap myself, along with all the paint and bodywork and it doesnt have to be done in a certain time frame...when i get some extra cash ill buy parts for it and slower put it together....but ill look into the SC's a little more..but from what ive seen they arent in my price range for a start on a project lol

N/A rotaries can last a long time if they are treated right, turbo rotaries do not have the same fortune. Rotaries (especially older ones like FC's) take a good deal of maintenance and attention in order to stay in good running order, especially if you don't plan on driving it all the time. In a lot of cases, I spent as much (or more) time working on mine than I did driving it... and mine was N/A! It takes a commitment to own a rotary car, you have to know and understand that you are dealing with something completely different than other cars; they are very different beasts to work on than piston engines.

I don't discourage you from owning a rotary if that is what you really want but I want you to know that it isn't a picnic, shit breaks, motors blow, everything is expensive to replace, and you will need to constantly keep up on maintenance. I don't know if I would have believed it before hand, but after owning an FC, this thread (a TII FC vs. an SR20 S13) is really an Apples-to-Oranges comparison

If it's just gonna be a for fun car, I'd say get the S13 and do an LSx swap. It may cost a little more initially, but it'd be way more fun when you're done, no matter what you wanted to do with it when driving it then.

ive always wanted to do a turbo'd small block project....but thatd be more fun in a s10 than a 240 lol
