I-70 will be gone in 2014

In february 2014, Interstate 70 will be officially be removed from Downtown St. Louis. Yes thats right, I-70 will be GONE south of Cass Avenue once the New I-70 Bridge across the Mississippi is complete just north of Downtown. The map from City to River above shows how Interstate 70 will be diverted across the new dedicated bridge into Illinois.

This is going to kill my commute in the morning.....

no clue wtf you talking about, this will be such a relief to the people that have to cross the river, currently 3 major highways cross the river at that spot, 70, 55, and 64... hence all the traffic on the bridge... I honestly can't wait

I usually hop the MLK across if I take 70. The merging traffic on the Poplar with the idiots that don't realize that both pairs of lanes go to the same place makes me avoid that bridge. lol

yea youd think after driving the same road every day theyd realize that. i would always see the same people fighting for the same side every day when i went to school over there... its going to be great losing 70
