Bye bye front plates!

Here's a different link for [a different] bill:

http://www.senate.mo.gov/10info/BTS_Web ... ID=3170477
Under this act, the state will only issue one license plate beginning August 28, 2010, unless the registered owner is eligible to receive a second plate. Some motorists will be able to obtain an optional 2nd plate upon the payment of $15 fee Motorists who currently receive two plates will be issued one plate and the plate shall be attached to the rear (instead of front and rear) of the motor vehicle. Applicants who request 2 license plates shall attach the plates to the front and rear of the vehicle. Applicants for personalized and special license plates will be automatically be issued 2 license plates. The act also requires that no tab shall be issued for the optional license plate and no tab shall be required to be displayed on such plate (Section 301.130)(SA 6).

It just makes sence for them to pass it. If it does/did pass Im sure they would charge the same to renew your plates, but you would only get one. This means they are making the same money and spending less to have plates made. Which if you didnt figure it out that means more money for them which is what they like and it would most likely be more than they make off wrighting ant tickets for not having you front plate on since they almost never wright a ticket for that anyway.

Also, lets be honest there really is no need for a front plate anyway.

yes, know we know the exact terminology of the Bill...but it still doesn't tell us that it has passed the MO Senate, MO House of Reps, and then signed into law... That's what I want to know.

I'm not trying to shiat on everyone's parade, but no one has put forth any evidence that either the House or Senate bill had actually become law.

Before everyone gets excited, there needs to be actual verification. Both House and Senate websites showed that the last action taken on either bill was not the bill being signed into law. Also, Google News has nothing beyond the Senate passing the bill a couple months back.

I'm not saying I am 100% certain, but so far, there is no evidence substantiating the Corvette forum claim. Anyone have anything to back it up?

yeeeea... thats IF the bill passed!

Per MSHP Troop F as of 11:40 am 20100804:
"NO, there is not, nor has there been, nor is there in the works any changes to the current law requiring display of a front and rear license plate on passenger motor vehicles registered in Missouri. 2 plates are issued for passenger vehicles and front and rear display are required."
