Mid rise lifts??

Post by g-mo »

Anyone have a mid rise lift or use one frequently?

I'm also looking at the mobile low rise 2 posts as well (It's about $800 more than the mid rise).

I don't use either one, but I've been looking into them myself. I like the MaxJax better because it will give clear access to the center of the car as well as the 4 corners. if you were going to put a catback on the car, the midrise would be in the way IMO. I know the maxjax is higher, but it's also smaller to store when not being used. the midrise would still take up floor space unless you were stout enough to be able to pick it up and lean it against the wall or whatever.

also, if you were to be working on a newer style vehicle (where you drop the engine out on the front subframe) I think the midrise would interfere.

Again, I haven't used either, but i like the way the MaxJax stays 'out of the way' while the car is up in the air.

the only serious drawback i see to the maxjax is if your installation location doesn't have the proper thickness concrete. I currently rent a shop and am not sure if it is adequate for mounting a lift...where the scissor style it wouldn't matter.
