true, but its not the sellers fault the person buying the part is a cheap bastard and is looking to get the lowest price... and then they wanna complain..

Yeah. Seems like you can class these folks into different groups.

1. Someone that buys name brand (like Spoon or Mugen) JUST because it's Mugen and "baller".
2. People that buy name brand (Spoon for example) and don't care how much it cost as long as the QUALITY is the best.

3.People that buy a part NO MATTER what brand it is AS LONG as it is highest quality (normally these folks I think are serious racers. Performance above brand).

4. People that buy knock offs because they can't afford the name brand or higher quality one, but will normally save up and replace with a better version when they can afford it.

5. People that buy knock off and pretend it's legit because they are lame.

well said, and no one should feel sorry for those losers who have to price check, if theres a part you want you should know the range of quality and pricings that goes with it. so if you get a knockoff you deserve to get it.

There's nothing wrong with shopping around. It's not like there's only one place on the entire interwebz that sells Spoon, Mugen, etc. parts. Some places will have a lower price and rape you on shipping while others have a slightly higer price and offer reasonable shipping prices. It never hurts to look around. You should not feel stupid for doing that.

buy what works reliably, done.

This piece isn't really a knock off....it is a straight counterfeit. If I designed the original and someone was pawning cheaper ones with my company name, I would be seeking legal action.

it's one thing for a company to copy a design, or style of wheel/part versus actually trying to pass their copy off as an original. If these were sold as 'similar to' ASR braces with a A5R machined in them or something then it wouldn't be so wrong. Sure, it's still a low quality knockoff, but at least they wouldn't be trying to defraud folks by claiming they were ASR.

I'm all for getting deals on parts, but at the same time I take a little thing called VALUE into consideration. If I see that a business is always willing to help, has good service, offers tech support, warranty, etc.. then I'm willing to pay them more money for parts that I could otherwise buy cheaper online. Now, do I want to pay exorbidant amounts more...NO. Will I pay more than online, yes.

I agree with all of this.

The Chronicles is a cool website, I check it out a few times a week. But it's amazing how much that guy bitches about real parts, considering none of them actually put them to any use. Him and his friends are hardparkers. They brag about driving their cars down the highway to a show. Congratulations.

I've been reading his blog for awhile, and I gotta say I am a bit disappointed with this post. They have been making fake ASR braces for awhile, it's been on H-T before, he just seems a little late to the punch.
