the block has little to nothing to do with obd2 or obd1
obd 2 with have a crank positioning sensor i think its only on obd2 and a knock sensor
b18a is obd1 or 0
b18b is obd1 or 2
either way it doesent matter they are interchangable

so far behind im ahead of the pack.

yea i know that it will have the crank sensor but since it is stripped i jsut figured someone might know if there was something that i didnt think of i guess to i could jsut use the block either way and jsut add the crank sensor then it would be obd2a that is what i was figureing

Could be wrong since I know nothing about the technical aspect of Honda engines, but I don't think you could just "add" a CPS.

well the CPS is in the dizzy (of ALL honda motors) the CKF sensor is mounted by the crankshaft on obdII motors and technically if your good you can fab a bracket and make it work OR you can just tie the cps and ckf together at the ecu and that will eliminate the need for the ckf all together and the car will run just fine with NO cel for either sensor. I had to do this when i swapped a Z6 into a y8 car awhile back, all i did was transfer the IM and dizzy over and then spliced the two wires together at the ecu and called it a dayMikeL;223173 wrote:Could be wrong since I know nothing about the technical aspect of Honda engines, but I don't think you could just "add" a CPS.
What is the CKF sensor?
The CKF is the Crank Fluctuation Sensor.
On all 96+ (OBD2) Honda/Acura vehicles, this sensor is integrated onto the oil pump.

i did this back in 06' and still no problems at all...N2HIFI;223183 wrote: just tie the cps and ckf together at the ecu and that will eliminate the need for the ckf all together and the car will run just fine with
if you want the CPS, just get a oil pump (the CPS is in the oil pump) for a newer B18, i believe a ITR would even work...

There isn't any knock sensor on any b18b.
Also the b18b ob2 will have a different pcv setup (you will see some electrical box on the intake manifold that the obd1 motors don't have). There is no crankcase "box" on the back of the motor, and the bottom hole that it installed to is closed off.
