the LS is a b series motor lol. unless your talking about swapping an lsx into a civic lol. but which engine is better is based upon whichever one people want to do. i have seen all of the ones you listed make great power and run very quick. but now you have the k series into the mix as well as the j swaps so that is a topic that will be debated for a whileSupraRacer;215692 wrote: So it brings up a new question, ive seen what rickles/stolle have done with thier D series, which is the better platform to build a turbo car?(D,B,H,LS series) i was always under the impression that the non-vtec motors were better suited for boost.

the best platform for a turbo? i would say its whatever is under the hood reasonably speaking dont start running out and putting turbos on your old 8 valve. i have done so much reading not just about turbos on hondas but turbos in general. at the end of the day an engine is a glorified air pump the more air and fuel you can shove in the, more power will come out.SupraRacer;215692 wrote:So it brings up a new question, ive seen what rickles/stolle have done with thier D series, which is the better platform to build a turbo car?(D,B,H,LS series) i was always under the impression that the non-vtec motors were better suited for boost.
that being said, i will say what i have said a million times to kids wanting b16 swaps and talking about "vtec this and vtec that" "who needs vtec when you have a turbo?". i dont like hearing about bigger displacment will net you more power with a turbo either. your using the turbo to compensate for your lack in displacment, what does vtec do anyway? changes the cam profile to allow more air into the cylinders, isnt that what your doing with the turbo, except your forcing pressurized air into the cylinder to me vtec and displacment would just be redundant.
so with the above i have effectivly, imho leveled the playing field on all b,d,h,k series engines vtec or otherwise. the bottom line when it comes to turbos on hondas is money nad preference, people that can afford a swap cant afford a turbo and people that have money are too stupid to realize that if they turbo their current engine it would possibly cost less than a swap and have more power. im not talking built motors here im talking stock, not to mention its a hell of a lot cheaper to replace a blown d that it is to replace anything b, h or k. personally i will pick a D over anything even i had a shit ton of money.
case in point my crx had a d15b7, rhb5 turbo on street tires it could trap 105-107 mph all day long and 13.4-13.9 et's. small turbo no vtec and this is in a full interior crx with street tires. to me you have to look at every aspect of a project cost being very important one especially when you get into built engines. i dont care what you have if you throw $4k into any honda engine it will make power, so really there is no answer to what would be best it would all just come down to personal preference and how deep your pockets are.

and she wishes i had fucked her, mostly just groping and one hell of a good story, seriously you should have been there.
5th gen thanks for the post, atleast YOU get what i was saying and responded with an intelligent and informative post. thank you
as far as em1 guy, no i dont know everything but i know more than you, you dont have to like it or even admit it but deep down you me and everyone else knows its true. However if youd like we can just settle this with a quick race(and trust me it would be quick)
So it brings up a new question, ive seen what rickles/stolle have done with thier D series, which is the better platform to build a turbo car?(D,B,H,LS series) i was always under the impression that the non-vtec motors were better suited for boost.
wtf r u talking about supragay? Also, I'm pretty sure I know a lot more than you do when it comes to hondas. You said so yourself you are a dumbass when it comes to hondas.
and what's even funnier is that you lost to a turbo'd STOCK d series on 6psi, full interior everything with your supra, but yet you have enough balls to talk crap to someone that has a bit more power in theres.
and buddy I would love to race you. Please come down here after all this snow and i'd gladly show you my taillights.
Also what makes this good too is that you really think just because you have trapped a higher speed and less time you automatically are faster. Im sorry to say, but I have seen plenty 7 and 8 sec. cars beat 6 second cars on the street. oh and yes from a dig too. So don't even start with that crap.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Hope this helps
Yes I own 2 slow red chick cars & 1 real car!

I know nothing about him, I just know he is full of it and knows nothing about hondas. Plus he admitted he didn't either.
but he knows what I have. If you'd like though, search my name, you'll find a few threads of my car with details/pics...nothing crazy what so ever, but if he lost to a turbo'd D series on 6psi, then I know my little bolt on b series will run him down too.

This whole thread of un-amusing 13 second car bullshit is by far about the dumbest thing I've seen in a while.
Ryan (supraracer) Why in the FUCK are you coming onto this board, a Honda board of all places to start shit with people? Knocking Hondas' on a Honda board... How well could you think this would go? honestly? I mean, in person you're a cool guy and all, but sheeeesh.
Now, all this hee-haw and mouth running about a buncha cars that run 13's this and that. Come spring/summer I'll be glad to come out and help a few of these so-called "quick" cars that run XX.XX @ XXXMPH find out where they REALLY stand.
