i usually have mine right around 0, except last year I had flipped my state and fed withholding. I owed a little to fed, and got a bunch back from the state. I was so confused until I realized what I had done.GTI-Guy;212615 wrote:No disrespect to anyone, but let me fully assure you ... you're an idiot not to adjust your withholding so that your refund is close to $0. Afraid of spending the money? Set up an auto withdrawal into a separate investment account so you don't get the chance and it earns interest & dividends for YOU, not the government. Yep, can only easily at least do with your regular paycheck via the withholding. I just add in money in the box "extra amount to withhold" and change that now and then as needed / earnings grow (hopefully!). Nice rate on the refi, that will increase your taxes a bit since less interest expense, but more than be made up with the money you'll save.06sik20z3;212618 wrote:bob how do you adjust it when the bulk of my return is coming back from my house or can i really only adjust it with my earnings to get that as close to 0 as possible?

Doesn't work for me on FF. I open up the calculator but the stuff on the right doesn't change after I've entered all my info in. Maybe I'm not doing something right..JustRob;212499 wrote:It doesn't work on IE. It works on Firefox. Even then, it's waaaaaay off.
But then I used a different calculator and it said $244. lol
