Not quite. The aldermen in the City passed legislation that was tied to the County enacting similar legislation. The ban goes into effect in 2011 in both places.btlfed7;207502 wrote:Well its still legal in the city....
But you can still smoke in casinos and bars that generate 75% of their revenues from alcohol.

wahhh waahhh wahhhhh! ppl that smoke amaze me--esp the ones that are parents. HEY...endanger your child's life more! ....brilliant.
and i LOVE nonsmokers that say smoking is an easy habit to kick... have you ever smoked and then tried to quit? if you have then you must be stronger willed than i am...i tried for 3 weeks, completely cold turkey, and i fawking died of headaches everyday. i finally gave in and havent thought twice about quiting.
needless to say i would never and will never smoke around my son, i dont even smell like smoke around my son... i have a hoodie that i wear when i need to go outside and smoke... and i take it off when i get inside and wash my hands until they smell fresh before getting within 10 feet of him.

The Smoking Ban Passed.
First off I'm a non smoker, never have done it, never will. It is gross and all that crap, and i dont like to be around it. But I do have mixed feelings, which I could care less if it had gotten passed or not.
The way I look at it is, shouldnt it be the right of a business owner to set the rules of his place of business? If the owner chooses to have it non smoking or smoking is his choice or apparently should be his choice, same goes for the people who choose to go to those places. If you dont want to be around it, dont go there, there are non smoking bars, restaraunts in St. Louis.
As far as them losing business, I doubt that will happen, I was in Columbia MO(no smoking town) and the bars were still packed with people.
I probably make no sense here, but hopefully someone see's my point.

pretty soon you WILL be seeing alot of restraunts and bars going out of business...same thing that happened in columbia, mo when they passed the smoking ban. it really hurt all the business' and alot of them had to close.
i think its bullshit because it should be up to the owner of the fuckin business whether or not they want smoking allowed.. and all you pussies that just cant stand it....well you DONT have to be around it if you dont want to... your choice to be around it. no one is forcing you. 2nd hand smoke? give me a fucking break. someone is watching too much tv..
i personally will not goto any bar in columbia since the ban a couple years ago..
all i have to say is they better not even think about doing this shit in the capitol city..

I am glad the ban passed. I always hated going into a bar and coming out smelling like an asshole because people want to smoke inside. Smoking affects everyone inside and not just the person(s) that are smoking.
I could only imagine how difficult it would be to quit something that is so addictive. You have my sympathy there. However, no one mandated that you must start smoking.
