da exhaust

Post by 91beatuphatch »

okay on my da i bought and installed a TR&D cat back. i used the factory cat.

my problem is that it drags on everything. it doesnt seem to fit up in the exhaust channel, it rides under it. im tired of dragging my expensive exhaust. would installing new rubber hangers fix it or any other ideas...

with everything in place the cat hits. it only sits a few inches off the ground. i did use the factory rubbers so i dont know if thats the issue. it seems that the exhaust doesnt sit up in the channel.

I'd install a test pipe its smaller in diameter then the o.e. cat plus in some case's could add hp but it wouldn't be much if at all noticable.

btw you can do this at autozone just get the pipe its roughly 17" cut the flanges off the old cat buy the pipe a hair bigger to fit over the pipe left on the flange and either use the clamp style or weld it up better to clamp it then fit it then weld it.

Pipe costs about $4 and this roughly takes 45 minutes to do, you will need random wrenchs rather be 12mm,13mm,14mm a sawzaw or grinder and the clamps possible a welder if you go that route.
