In missouri the cops will say you were racing because there isn't any huge punishment for street racing. and being pulled over and being cited for something are completely different.
im sure they do as well but if a cop wanted to be a dick he could a write someone a ticket for street racing. and if you took it to court how are you going to prove you werent? its your word against the police and we all know how that ends up most of the time
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...

Werd. Honestly, what they should do is take the racer's cars and part it out to make money for the police station. Still takes the car away to make a point and won't really be a waste. The police in Cali are trained to know what engine goes in/should go in a honda. However, someone said this earlier, for some reason, I don't believe they would be as harsh to a domestic car than a sport compact. Whenever there is a video like that, it's always a honda.

i have seen videos with 350z's getting crushed but never a camaro, mustang, or other american car. and you know they are out there racing as well. just watch some of the bay area racing videos, there are quite a few mustangs and trans am/camaros that are in those videos

The problem with parting out the cars is that half of the parts on the cars are emissions illegal and would basicly be selling illegal parts to the public. By crushing the cars they are getting rid of the illegal parts, thus keeping them off the streets.

Yeah, strip them down and put them back to stock. What cop force is going to pay a shop to dismantle and have the car put back to stock. None of them. It's too much time and money wasted to get nothing out of it.

Sell them at auction as is, and then someone else who has less respect will go out and do the same thing with a new to them car and wreck it.

This is a no win situation. And I agree, the dumbasses KNOW the consequences for street racing and they did it anyways. Fuck them for being stupid and putting others at risk.... If they REALLY were racing.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!
