More progress on the HT room.

Post by RyanA »

Well, things are coming together more and more on the HT room. Dale came down and did my crown moulding, my baseboard, made a step out for my projector, and put a faceplate across the front of my screen so it's out of sight when the screen is up. Still have more trim work to do, have to hang the tempered and tinted glass doors on the top 2 sections of the corners and I have to make grilles for the lower sections of the towers and across the bridge so everything is hidden. A little more paint work and it should be done.

For those of you wondering how in the world a HT room can work with a window, my screen is 100% light blocking. My french doors go to another inside room in my house and there are light blocking curtains that can be pulled shut. The door that goes from my HT room to my sun room does not need any coverings as there are light blocking window coverings. In the middle of the day, it's dark as night in my HT room if I want it to be.

Here's with 4 of my 6 lights still on in the room:

I thought I was the only person on here with a home theater!
That looks really nice, I will post some pics up of mine sometime.

Did you measure the projectors throw distance from where you mounted it? What do you have as a powersource?

Nope. Not at this time. I sold all of my discrete amps when I moved to this house. My Denon seems to have plenty of umph for what I'm doing. I left plenty of room to go separate amps down the road if I decide to. I've been trying to talk a friend out of his Acurus 200 wpc amps but he's still attached to them. If I do ever go with separate amps again, they won't be some cheap trash. They'll be Acurus, Sunfire, etc. If I ever get to that point, I'll also be selling all of my DefTech speakers and building my own from scratch....

Let me know if you need a deal on Yamaha, Denon or Pioneer Elite Ryan. Sometimes I can get pretty good buys from work.

Well, I'd consider upgrading my receiver. I know Denon makes a few pretty nice ones now. I currently have the 2807. Nothing spectacular but it sounds pretty good for what it is. Sold my HK about 6 months ago...
