Illinois will begin using photo radar in freeway work zones in July. One mile per hour over the speed limit and the machine will get you a nice $375.00 ticket in the mail. Beginning July 1st, the State of Illinois will begin using the speed cameras in areas designated as "Work Zones" on major freeways. Anyone caught by these devices will be mailed a $375.00 ticket for the FIRST offense. The SECOND offense will cost $1000.00 and comes with a 90-Day suspension. Drivers will also receive demerit points against their license, which allow insurance companies to
raise Insurance rates.
This is the harshest penalty structure ever set for a governmental unit involving PHOTO speed enforcement. The State already has two camera vans on line issuing tickets 24/7 in work zones with speed limits lowered to 45 MPH. Photos of both the Driver's face and License plate are taken. Pass this on to everyone you know who might be affected!!!

I cant see them being able to hold people to such a strict tolerance when factory speedometers can vary. Hell even tire pressure could make up that 1mph difference.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Hope this helps
Yes I own 2 slow red chick cars & 1 real car!

Then be smart, and think about the workers, and slow down to 5mph under the speed limit in case you have a speedo that can "vary"
Thank God I've got a PHD in Astro Physics to come to that conclusion. :PDT_021:

So am I but i just see alot of other people bitching and complaining when they get the ticket, Illinois is pretty strict when it comes to moving violations though which is a good thing. Well thanks for the warning anyways99preludesh;187095 wrote:DING DING DING!!

looks like its probably time to plot a course to IA that doesn't involve a lot of time in Illinois.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.
