well i got a photo enforced ticket in the mail today. it looks like i didnt come to a "complete stop" before making a right hand turn.
it says its a non-moving violation, and they want 100$.
just another way for cities and states to get money.. pretty sad if you ask me. All this country is about is money...
Anyone else have funny tickets like this, what did you do about it?
but to be honest. I dont think i will be paying a dime.
Reasoning
first, This is from a third party company.
Second, they can't prove I was the one driving.
third, I know plenty of people who never paid theirs, never got a warrant, never heard about it again, some have been 2 years already and never paid theirs still.. I dunno..
forth, if they wanna take me to court they can go right ahead.
fifth, I know a police officer, and he told me to not pay it because its not a real ticket, he said they probably won't fight it.

I do know they have a police officer who basically watches the video, or sees the pictures, and signs off on it. but still. I'm pretty sure this isn't real, its like some kind of scam. because they cant prove whos driving, so they dont give you a court date.
Its been two years since my brother got one, and he still hasn't run into any problems. so I dunno... Guess we will see what happens. The payment is due 4/17.

I dont think I would pay it because you have the right to face your accuser and Im sure the company does not have people to go show up at court to face you. Just a thought, but i could be wrong,

yeah its a third party company, police don't set up cameras. and if your speeding and a camera sees you, I'm sure you could fight it saying they aren't accurate, or say u weren't driving the vehicle. unless they get a face shot, then they have enough to prosecute. and I'm sure they'd give you a court date.
In my case they give me no court date. So how is this a ticket? you can fight any ticket in court. this seems to just be a fine.
and on the bill itself,
They are stating two different addresses.
Coming From
Country Club Hills Police Department
Photo Enforcement Program
PO Box 59995
Phoenix, AZ 85076-9995
and
Send bill to:
Country Club Hills
Photo Enforcement Division
PO Box 742503
Cincinnati, OH 45274-2503
If you ask me it's a bunch of bullshit.
Yeah they may have wrote me a fine that may make it to the court, but who are they to say who was driving the vehicle. There is no proof here. And they know they cant prove I was driving, therefore there is no court date. I'm pretty sure they don't want to spend the money to bring me to court knowing they don't have enough evidence to convict me of doing the crime. They don't want to look like idiots either.

Here's an article from the RFT about those cameras.
Apparently in the City, until they passed a special ordinance, there was no legal obligation to pay the fine. It was "recommended" but really unenforceable. It would be interesting to see if the municipality you got the ticket in has any enforcement mechanisms.

If you got your ticket in Country Club Hills, as I have gleaned from your previous post, I smell bullshit. Just another tiny North County city that nowadays exists solely to ticket drivers. I wouldn't put it past them to rig the lights to trip prematurely. Even though you said yours was a right on red ticket, I still don't trust them.

I have been asking around, it seems some cities do actually bring you to court over these tickets. Most likely they have a picture of your face as well, and if they don't, fight it.
one city for example is St. Peters.
but thanks for the information. I guess I will see what happens lol.
