Air Force guys step inside
Is there anyone here in/was in the Air Force or just military in general? i know Phate and one other here for sure are in the military. i got accepted to join. just got back from taking the assessment test (scored 70%. average is 55%) and completed about 80% of the paper work. all i have left is to go to the federal building and take another test and then my physical. i just want to know from your experiences what you liked/disliked about it so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time.

i dont know if it helps much, but my older broher is an MP in the Air Force and he "enjoys" it. He was the type of person who was just kind of working dead end jobs not really going anywhere so it was good for him. It is what it is man, he hated the first few months, but after that, he said it wasnt so bad. he has been in iraq for a couple of months now and said it sucks bad.

my gf's brother is an MP in the Army and was stationed in Killeen, TX a few years ago. he has been in iraq twice, for a total of i think close to 30 months. has 2 daughters and has only been around for a maximum of 6 months since they've been born. only one month for the second daughter. he is deaf in one ear now from some kind of explosive going off by him, been within inches of being killed multiple times, held a couple friends as they died in his arms, and had to kill a few children because they would not get out of the road when they were ordered not to stop for anyone.
but on the bright side, this is his last tour and he is coming back in a couple weeks, granted to Killeen still. and the army is giving him a few hundred thousand to start up his own business when he gets back.

why are you talking about afghan? i thought it was more of a volunteer situation? i'm pretty sure if they did choose me to decide to go it would be for obama's "vietnam war" than anything else.Tyler;171290 wrote:my gf's brother is an MP in the Army and was stationed in Killeen, TX a few years ago. he has been in iraq twice, for a total of i think close to 30 months. has 2 daughters and has only been around for a maximum of 6 months since they've been born. only one month for the second daughter. he is deaf in one ear now from some kind of explosive going off by him, been within inches of being killed multiple times, held a couple friends as they died in his arms, and had to kill a few children because they would not get out of the road when they were ordered not to stop for anyone.

OK well you sign up for active duties then your ass will get kicked into active duties. you can sign up for the reserves if you don't think your combat ready. i have a friend that is a marine and he has been over seas for 4 months now. this is his second tour. I'm sure there will be more of them. ill give you the advice i gave to him. keep your ass on the ground, keep your head down, do work and come home. for your families sake. if not for your own
You can talk shit all you want! eventually noone will care about your input. :yo:

how many planes where brought down over the whole war to fight terrorism look it up.
you think you your not going to die when your on duty will get you killed in a tank, in a plane, or even on foot.
just cuz you drop bombs doesn't mean your life still isn't @ jeopardy...
