If an owner EVER leaves a baby alone with ANY kind of dog that's just plain stupid. You avoid these situations by using your head. You also don't lay a baby on the ground while a dogs around fearing that the dog could step on the baby. Even cats can attack a baby.

Plain and simple Mr. S2k owner put the dog in the garage, the dog got bored as hell, and the S2k happened to be there and looked delicious. Either that or the dog does not get enough attention from the owner or the owner beats it.

That's not a pit bull anyway. It's one of those "designer" pit bulls. Breed with whatever they could find to make the dog look huge.
