I'd say turbo the LS. If something goes wrong, b18a motors are cheaply had, your torque curve when you tune will certainly be better than the other vtec motors, and you wouldn't have to go through the headache of a swap if it's your first time doing one. Besides, going turbo, you'd make more power than a swap.
